Haha I did switch it up.

It didn’t seem like 2 firsts would be required as long as the Hawks received an individual first round pick and no salary beyond 2017-18 in return for a Belinelli/Dedmon package. Am I wrong in thinking that? (Guilt of switcheroo aside)

I think Atlanta is looking for a Korver-esque deal. A protected or late first from a team looking for a specialist. Dedmon and Belinelli both fit that, but with both there needs slightly more value

I'm working on a multi-team concept where the Hawks portion is Vince Carter (expiring), 2018 Lottery Protected Toronto Raptors First Round Draft Pick (via Brooklyn) and 2020 Boston Celtics Second Round Draft Pick for Dewayne Dedmon and Marco Belinelli, does that fit?

If you go to the trade board, you will now find multiple post of trades from several teams for Belinelli for a 1st round pick.

Hopefully the Hawks can pull one off soon before the trade deadline.

Maybe Luke Babbitt gets some offers, but on the other hand, I also wouldn't mind in keeping Luke and have him part of the future plans for the Hawks. Luke is only 28 and just like Korver could still be productive until age 37

understood. Just understand that if our Front Office decides to move Dedmon or Bellinelli, it'll likely be to the highest bidder(s).

I also think that the Hawks would prefer to move them in separate deals to maximise returns.

Actually those aren't the deals.

In my eyes we only have 2 players who could potentially net us a first round pick: Dedmon and Belinelli. Babbitt and Ersan aren't of that value (just look at last season when we traded for him). Doesn't mean we don't have to ask, just that we won't get them.

However most of those deals are: take back a 2nd for Belinelli or take back a heavily protected first that won't convey as well as take on a badish deal.

What kind of asset would the Hawks look to get in an Ersan Ilyasova for expiring deal?

IIRC the Hawks gave up Miami's 46th and swapped their 50th for the 60th to obtain Ilyasova. I imagine they would seek a similar return otherwise it may be wiser to hold onto Ersan due to the current depleted nature of the front court depth. Boston's 30th trumps that but that may be too steep an asking price given his subpar play this season. Yeesh, what happened to Boston's war chest of picks? It's all top-heavy now.

ATLANTA trades Marco Belineli and Malcolm Delaney to Philly for Jerryd Bayless, Justin Anderson, BKN/CLE 2018 2ND (more favorable), LAC/NYK 2018 2ND (more favorable)

We can either buyout Bayless or use his contract as an expiring trade piece for next year. Anderson can be the backup SF to Prince.

With our plethora of 2nds we'll likely sell one for cash, draft and stash, maybe some one will take Baze and 2nd. (They'll be high 2nds)

Not interested in deals taking back salary. Not really interested in trading Belli for less than an early 2nd rounder or late first.

Not interested. I would like to resign Ersan, Belli and Dedmon unless we get a deal that makes sense

It would make the most sense but we need to be clear with other fans. We actually could bring back all three players. They are good vets to have for the long term

I think an early 2nd is viable. The best question is, would this be enough to get Atlanta to move from Dedmon. I don't think so especially since the Knicks would have to trade back salary. This isn't the most deep of drafts. I don't know how interested Atlanta would be

Great points Supes -er- KingKen. Seems other fans just assume we have to trade these guys or lose them for nothing. Well, who says we won't decide to keep them?

Except they have to want to stay. It's not up to us.

I mean, 'Sova had a chance to leave didn't he? All them guys had a chance to cash in this past offseason and ....

obtw, this coming offseason will have less teams with space.

Take that for data, macd.
