Bad news is Miami has absolutely nothing...no picks in the draft this year..I doubt we want any of their players either..I dunno..maybe a 3 way.

I’ve seen a lot of Prince trade talk floating around. I’ve said this before but I wouldn’t trade him...well..unless it’s an awesome return...Taurean Prince is a man. You always want a guy like that on ur team...you have to have one to be feared. We lose him and we don’t have one.

Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks, under the leadership of first-year GM Travis Schlenk, have made everyone available, several rival team executives said.

Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova, veteran, floor-spacing players, have generated interest, as has second-year swingman Taurean Prince. Dennis Schroder is available, but the three-years and $46.5 million remaining on Schroder’s deal coupled with a string of maturity issues have made interest minimal.

...the headline here is the inclusion of Prince, who is widely seen as Atlanta’s runner-up in terms of “most unavailable asset” in trailing only John Collins. It has been an up and down season for the 23-year-old former lottery pick, as Prince is shooting the ball quite well (40.2 percent from three) but struggling on the defensive end and, at least at times, with effort and energy on both sides of the floor.

Schlenk is right to at least consider moving him for an impressive return.

...another interesting note, Prince was not selected in the draft by Schlenk and, in similar fashion to Schröder and others, that lends a bit of uncertainty to the GM’s personal evaluation of his skill set.

The NBA has never generated a lot of interest around here, but something is going on with the Atlanta Hawks that requires our attention.

They need to lose. Yes, it’s not often there’s a public declaration for a team to lose, to be bad. But as the Hawks go through their first full season of a rebuilding process, the best thing for them to do is to lose as many games as possible.

The Hawks traded away Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver and let Al Horford and Paul Millsap walk away in free agency.

So, here we go again. The Hawks are looking for a star...reports have the entire team, except for rookie John Collins, on the trade block. It’s a chance for general manager Travis Schlenk to get future draft picks for his existing players.

They need to find a star in the draft, and top picks usually have higher chances to become stars.

In the meantime, let’s hope baseball season gets here quickly. The Braves are at least headed into season four of their rebuild, while the Hawks have just begun their process.

We already have a spotty record w.r.t. free agents. Can't be cutting dudes who come out saying they want desperately to be here.

There's apparently multiple suitors for 'Sova too. If my tea-leaf reading is accurate, sounds like he's just not enamored with the existing scenarios at this point.

Illy is also looking at a teams style of play, how many minutes he'll get etc - he is a FA in the offseason. So i think he's looking to make sure he's gonna get playing time and not relegated to bench fodder on a playoff team.

This just screams 2003-2004 season all over again. Playing these vets who end up winning games (Ersan is more than capable of going for 20) and costing us the top pick.

In games where he has gone for 15+ points we are a .500 team.

I suppose a 'Sova-20 coupled with a hot night for Dennis could win us games we don't need to win. I'd just not play him though. Rather than cut him. I'm going sawft.

Ersan didn't want to leave Philly when they sucked. He wants playing time and he wants stability. And these guys know more than we do who the legit contenders are. He just doesn't see the point of going to Miami, Indy, or Portland. I think there are 4 teams that probably interest him.

YES!!!

If we can get a second franchise player in a single draft...you play pretty much anything and take any/every bad contract to do it.


I'd even throw in the HOU/Minny Picks if there's a guy we love available.
