Scared the team can't get a deal done. Trying to be a little creative.

How about the right to swap Sixers 1st rounder for the Minny pick and Belinelli.

Belinelli doesn't have that kind of value

This is a deal that I would probably do. Clarkson has this year plus two more on a friendly contract and Zubac has a team option for next year. This isn’t bad except for the fact that Clarkson might get us more wins this year. Thoughts?

1. Nice find.

2. I suggested a similar deal a month ago and the Hawk Squawk kids vociferously voted it down.

3. I'd be in favor of this. It's basically just flipping expiring assets for short term assets to be used in future moves.

When it comes to on-court benefits, Atlanta obtains one of the best substitute players in the league today in Clarkson. The 2015 NBA All-Rookie First Team member has been a beast off the bench for head coach Luke Walton this season, averaging 14.5 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in only 23.7 minutes per game.

I think I'm going to ignore the stuff til something actually happens
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Of course this league-wide tactic comes along right at the start of our rebuild...

You almost have to respect this amount of stubbornness and short-sightedness.

He's their franchise guy and they ain't shipping him out. Like Dirk in Dallas. Hopefully Marc's next few years are more bearable than Nowitzki's have been.

A Blah Idea That Is Really Very Blah: Something, something, something, Atlanta Hawks, something, something, something.

(In this analogy, I think it means that Kent Bazemore is the plastic bag inside of the plastic bag.)

:falloff:

I won't bother posting it here. But his analogy for the Hawks fire sale this deadline is hilarious.

I am not interested in most deals out there right now. Unless we can get a 2nd rounder for Beli or something like that

Only if Bazemore is traded (or Plumlee). Hawks have $21 million in capspace in the offseason, trading for Clarkson reduces that to $9 mil to fill out the rest of the roster.
Tyler Dorsey can fill in just fine as our 6th man.
Rather keep our cap sheet clear for the offseason and get a 1st pick from a team in salary cap, luxury tax hell.
As we are seeing teams are reluctant to take on salary unless expiring which Clarkson isn't.

We're definitely deadline losers to a degree. Fortunately the MEM Grizzlies exist so no one will notice us. :P

I mean, really? Why keep Evans? Why?

Disaster of a trade deadline day. We got next to nothing done.

I'm on the fence about buying Belli out. On one hand I'd like to give Dorsey those minutes, on the other hand Marco is such a net negative that he actually contributed to us losing.

Ilyasova needs to be bought out as soon as possible though.
