What would you give up? Baze plus what pick (s).
For the right price, sure. I’m not gonna give up too much though as far as investing in the future. Despite Wiggins being super young, he hasn’t become the superstar people projected coming out.
Having said that, Bud might be able to turn him into a superstar. At the right price, sure.
Who here would do a package involving Dennis for Wiggins? I’m torn on this. It seems almost fair on paper but I’m sure Wiggins has much more value league wide (which is bs).

I've said it before Wiggins for Dennis. Maybe even some lower end picks.Spud2nique wrote:jayu70 wrote:

When did you say it? We have an archiveable database here...copy and paste it.
So Dennis + Houston’s pick (30th) for Wiggins and Dean Garrett?

Bazemore and Minny gets their 2018 pick back?

We get a Trae Young or a Sexton in the draft and do this..
Trae
Wiggins
Prince
Collins
Not a bad start.

Oof, Wiggins is not good and is getting paid a pretty penny. Have we gone from trying to revive cheap reclamation projects to expensive ones?

In my scenario it's just Baze and Minny 1st. Not Dennis.
RealGM trade board doesn't think Wiggins has much value.
I've seen Reggie Jackson and Luer

Also, Bud is not turning him into a superstar, if he can get more out of him off the ball would be ideal.

Is he a reclamation project though? Noel, Okafor those a reclamations. I'm not sure what he is though.
Maybe a change of scenery might be worthwhile. Bud does wonders with wings.
I'm not gungho to get him just saying I wouldn't be totally against it.

Hell yes we should be interested!!!
The kid is a good player who hasn't even entered his prime yet.
There should be no hesitation on acquiring him. The issue is cost.
They will definitely want Taurean, the CLE pick and their own pick back as a starting point. We'd likely add Bazemore and take back a bad contract (Dieng) too.
But if we can nab a top 5 selection plus Wiggins this summer while keeping Collins...yeah, that's a legit core to start building around.
And no, Wiggins ain't a reclamation project. He's being misused, similar to Oladipo in Orlando.
NOTE: This is where years of bad drafting and poor asset management comes back to bite us as we can't put a strong package of talent together for him.

Minny's attempt at building a scaled down big three has failed.
It shows you how difficult it is to do for everything to work.
I'll take Wiggins and I believe Bud can get the best out of him.

Andrew Wiggins or Kemba Walker?
Which one will cost us less by trade and which one is a better fit?

He’s already set to make $146 million. You can’t just send that to the GLeague or bench him like Bud did with Jr. to rebuild him. He’s similarly one dimensional and inefficient and if he’s chaffing at not being the man while actually winning then that’s an added attitude issue.
At least Oladipo always had good character and work ethic, getting traded twice as a throwaway was the kick in the balls that finally got him to put it together. Trading for Wiggins if the report is true that he’s bitter will be more like enabling a brat. That and I’m not sold on the “Minnesota can’t develop players” tip. KAT is a stud and Lavine was outplaying Wiggins before he blew out his knee.

Wiggins for all intents and purposes, is this decades Duck Butt. He's a nice player but doesn't move the needle as being a top option for this team. If you can get him without sacrificing the farm it's a go.
A franchise like Sacramento/Orlando looking for a young superstar would throw the sink at Minny I would think.

I'd say their attitudes are polar opposites while still netting the same result. Marvin was all like "Naw, it's alright. Let Josh take that shot, he needs one." whereas Wiggins is all like "Why TF is KAT taking my shots?! I need one!"

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread (Part 2)
I have to be honest, the thought of potentially kicking off our rebuild around Wiggins, Collins and a top-10 selection is really exciting.
Wiggins alongside either Trae Young or Luka Doncic would be really intriguing.
If Bud and his staff can get A Wiggins to shoot >38% from three while being the featured option on offense, we could be looking at star level production as the kid enters his prime in a couple of seasons.

Wiggins is far superior to anything Marvo ever was just on attitude alone, as Ma$e pointed out.
That said, I agree I'd be all for it as long as it doesn't gut the team/assets. Honestly, MIN would be in a tough spot if a real trade demand comes so it shouldn't even take much more than the HOU pick IMHO. On top of that, MIN's GM is craptastic so he can be 'had' in a trade scenario by a real gm.
