Would be a very impressive pair of back to back wins if we pull it off.

Seems like former Atlanta players who were marginal come back with huge games.

The dagger was a wide open 3 pointer from the wing with 30 seconds left. That's absolute vintage Hawks.

OK so it's at the point where you are what your record says you are which is a mediocre team. What moved can they make to improve the roster? I think many underestimated the impact the loss of Horford to chemistry and the flow of the offense. It can't hurt to play Bembry and Prince now what have they got to lose? Why is the perimeter D so horrendous? You've got athletic wings in Thabo, Baze, and Dennis. Is it the scheme?

Yep. Through a full third of the season, we're definitely a middle of the pack caliber team.

I agree that the loss of Horford has been more difficult to move past than many anticipated. (It's clear why the front office wanted to play Horford next to Dwight instead of simply replacing AH with an ill-fitting D12.)

Our biggest struggles during the Budenholzer era have come when:

a) Horford was lost to injury for the year in Bud's rookie season as HC
b) the following season when Horford was still rusty, recovering from the lingering effects of a prolonged rehabilitation
c) Horford left in free agency and was replaced by a more talented, but less complementary player.

I hear Boston guys crediting Horford for his unselfishness, passing, floor spacing, clutch play, FT shooting -- and can't help but think how much we seem to be suddenly lacking in each of those areas.
The loss of Teague has been huge, too.

If we're moving Bembry and TP2000 into the rotation...then we should be shipping out the expiring vets, too. Thabo and Korver deserve the chance to play for a vet team. And trading them could bring back modest assets to use in future trades.

His drive and desire to be great is refreshing and a huge relief.

He has a ways to go...but you have to believe he won't stop working until he reaches that top tier of PGs.
