Starting this thread a day early. The Wizards have been incredibly hot of late. In fact, the only team in the East hotter than us. This Friday's game should serve as a solid barometer for where our team stands against the best back court in the East and our primary competition for the division title.

The Wizards forum is urging us to bring it to them for this game. (All in good fun of course.)

PLEASE spread word among Hawks fanatics that we *want* you guys to come over into the thread and trash talk. Nobody is gonna get reported or suspended (except for porn/inappropriate photos and evading the language filter).

Bring on the insults, etc. We *value* really witty, snarking trash talk and good posts will be rewarded (perhaps grudgingly).

So let's represent, fellas. This matchup not only will help to decide who wins the division. It serves as a preview of a likely Round 1 opponent. The best Eastern backcourt vs the best Eastern frontcourt. Two moribund franchises fighting it out for relevancy in the dog days of the season.

Someone else can feel free, not that talkative in the first place.

Hawks have a 1.5 game lead in the division.
Hawks are a 4 point favorite in the game.

Glad it's a home game for us since Washington has won like 19 straight home games and are only 6-14 on the road.

GO HAWKS!!

Such a promisising matchup. I can't quite decide who's gonna take this one.

I really like what I've seen from WAS's wing players. John Wall should be in consideration for MVP. But that bench is...bad.

Hawks have an advantage with their front court...but if Bazemore and THJ can't give them double digit scoring against a solid Wizards defense, I'm not sure the Hawks can score enough to keep up.

I'm thinking Porter and Wall go crazy. WAS by 11.

Halfway through the 3rd quarter and only THJ & Bazemore are in double digits for the Hawks. WOW!

And Kent is leading the team in shot attempts. Oy vey. I'd like to see our win-loss record when Bazemore leads us in FGAs.

I doubt it is very good...though it seems to happen much to often.

I don't blame Baze for leading the team in FG attempts, he was seemingly the only one who could do anything right out there.

Was an off night for Millsap, Dwight was ok, Dennis was dreadful. This looked like a game we would lose, from the opening tip.

I'm noticing a trend regarding Dennis. Since he's become a starter, he's struggled when facing off against elite opposing PGs. (With the noticeable exception of Kyrie Irving.)

Is it mental? Too much competitiveness perhaps?

In big games against John Wall and Isaiah Thomas this month, Dennis looked outclassed.

I'm hoping this is just youthful inexperience. But it's worth watching moving forward.
