UNACCETABLE or Hawks report

Let's start with ownership.
The ASG were a huge net negative. They rode the end of BK's rebuilding pieces into a 60 win season and an embarrasing playoff exit, then failed to improve on the team or cash in for future assets. 60 win team disappeared. They embarrassed everyone with the racist fiasco, onfighting and the ouster of Ferry.
In come Kessler group and high hopes. Two seasons later, the Hawks are about to slip into the dregs of the East. A depleted roster talent wise with old, expensive players inflating the recond, but not hiding the reality.
GM:
Ferry came in and seemed to right the ship. Brought in Bud and made a couple nice second/third tier signings to keep the playoff Hawks in the playoffs and still some hope. Problem though. They keep shipping out recent firsts for crap return and there is no development or contibution from the draft. Ferry exited in disgrace and Budcox comes in to...do nothing except build around Bud"s system with bad results. More bad drafting, trading away first for one year of decent ball (THJr). Bad contracts.. result: This team is not built for Budball.
Team:
Shro: young talent slipping out of Bud"s grip, potentially hindering his developùent.
Prince: Lottery pick getting few minutes despite showing potential
Bembry: Who? Couple glimmers, but not enough run to judge
Sap: Aging 2/3 option up for a contract that can only hurt the Hawks if signed. Walks for nothing in best case senario
DH: good rebounding, but that's it. Doesn't fit Budball. Maybe a better fit with Horf
THJr: One decent year at the cost of a mid first. Gone or re-signed at market value. Terrible GMing
Dunleavy: is he still in the NBA
Delaney:
Baze: one of two worst contracts with DH. Lot of energy, little talent
and that's it.
Owners saying they need to assess the situation (npt paying attention or BS). Depleted roster (at season's end). Bad cap situation. No pieces to even tank with.
Been following the team since about 70, don't think I"ve seen a more dire situation. Very poor work by our recent owners/GM

Right! The fans deserve better.

There is a way forward.
1) Sign Euroleague AllStars
3 pt shooting the last 3 years
Thomas Heurtel PG (1989) - 40%, 40%, 40%
Nicolo Melli SF/PF (1991) - 32%, 44%, 40%
Derrick Brown SF/PF (1987) - 44%, 37%, 46%
Anthony Randolph PF/C (1989) - 39%, 34%, 39%
Joe Ragland PG (1989) - 40%, 38%. 38%
Improve: Depth, 3 point shooting, maturity, transition scoring, rim protection, length, rebounding and team oriented style of play (Euro Spurs ethos).
2) Doing the above allows you to create assets on reasonable contracts (possible trades) - also creates a 3 years window for improvement with the same unit.
3) Don't re-sign Milsap. Don't pick up Dunleavy's contract.
4) Re-sign Hardaway
5) See if there is a market for Schroder, possibly for a 1st round pick next year
6) Attempt to acquire Cedi Osman from the Cavs this years 1st round draft pick.
Heurtel/Ragland/Delaney
Hardaway/Bazemore/Bembry
Brown/Osman/Prince
Randolph/Melli
Howard/Ajinca

that's something completely different. My only thing is, don't trade picks. Nothing against bringing over euro FAs as long as they're better than Delaney

Also prefer to move DH, even if the return isn't great. Baze can go too

If this is what's going on now, I can't wait to see the meltdown on this board after we get knocked out of the first round.

^^^^^^^^ It won't be a shocker to people who know basketball.
I truly believe they need to rebuild and get a superstar in the draft. I'm okay with tanking at this point because getting into the playoffs hasn't done anything for us in the free agency. Making the eastern finals didn't land us a top FA.
If we can't trade for a Superstar then we need to draft one. Enough of the treadmill saga, it's time to move on.

I'm amazed at the pass that BudCox is getting. The job they've done the last two years has been close to sabatoge. There was a recent GM rating that listed the Hawks front office as middle NBA. WTF. Crapping the 60 win team, losing Horf for nothing, bad contracts, waffling with the KK/ Sap deadline crap.
Which front office has been worse over the last two years? Before you answer, think about this coming offseason...

To be fair despite our front office being bad there are still far worst in the NBA. The Knicks and the Kings come to mind.

Knicks, Kings, Magic, Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte and Portland could all be listed as teams that made massive investments and/or outright incompetent moves just to fight for an 8th seed at best.
Then you have a team like Miami that dismantled a dynasty, lost the best player in the league and their face of their franchise FOR NOTHING, and the one season where they made every move to secure a top lotto pick because they owe quite a few of their picks over the next 4 years.....they're fighting for potentially a 5th seed.
Then there's everyone's favorite plucky underdogs in Memphis whom will never be judged fairly for their missteps and drafts because their blue collar "grind house" labeling masks any expectations.
And of course, one can never forget Philadelphia whom after 4 years already of the "process" have all of 31 games worth of Embiid to show for it.
So yes, one wouldn't have a hard time finding worse front offices.

This offseason has a very high probability of sucking
