I will say, for both Trae Young and Kevin Huerter...it seems extremely beneficial that they have had other players to share the rookie experience with. Omari, in particular, seems like a guy who loves the spotlight and has taken some of the overwhelming attention off of the other two younger guys.

This seems like a fun group and I hope they're all around for a while.

The most shocking person on that seasons played list for me is Jason Terry. I hope Vince plays next year.

1. Agreed.

2. I'd have been okay bringing him back for a swan song season in a role similar to Vince Carter's, If nothing else,m he'd make a solid, dependable 3rd PG option once Jalyen Adams gets relegated to Erie.

I'm sad that former/current Hawks are so well represented on this list.

Damn. :nonono:

I...had no idea.

The Origins of All 30 NBA Team Names

Atlanta Hawks

Image

In 1948, the cities of Moline and Rock Island, IL, and Davenport, IA—collectively known as the Tri-Cities at the time—were awarded a team in the National Basketball League. The team was nicknamed the Blackhawks, who, like Chicago's hockey team, were named after the Sauk Indian Chief Black Hawk. When the team moved to Milwaukee in 1951, the nickname was shortened to Hawks. The franchise retained the shortened moniker for subsequent moves to St. Louis and finally Atlanta in 1968.

Apparently Mrs. Ressler performed this skit at the Bulls - Hawks game Saturday?

Our marketing/PR team has gone all out this season. Kudos to Koonin and the staff.

NOTE: Initiatives like these should effectively bring Mutombo back into the fold as a 'Hawks legend', right?

Hawks to mark half-century in Atlanta with 50 acts to help 50K people

To celebrate their 50th anniversary in Atlanta, the Hawks are giving back to their home city this NBA season by completing 50 acts of service designed to help 50,000 people, the team said in a news release.

The charitable initiatives include public court renovations, community conversations, employee community service projects, basketball camps and clinics, as well as basketball equipment donations to Atlanta nonprofits. Hawks players, alumni and staff will participate in the service projects, and the first of these events was the team’s participation in the annual Atlanta Pride Parade on Oct. 14.

The team has many other special festivities planned for home games this season. State Farm Arena will sport a black and gold “50th Anniversary” court for a select 10 home games.

Someone isn't a fan of our marketing department.

"It's kind of weird because ... they just lost the game [Wednesday] night and the guy they were tweeting about, I got a double-double on him," said Kanter, who had 17 points and 11 rebounds against Atlanta. "So it's a little weird to tweet something about him after a bad loss, a home loss. It's just a little weird. We were just talking about it. Their social media guy is probably a high schooler, I don't know.

"They should consider a new one definitely, a more mature one," Kanter added. "Because I've been seeing what the Hawks account's tweeting. Terrible. Very childish."

Kanter complaining about a "childish" twitter account? The lady doth protest too much.

These bad boys are supposed to drop and be worn on the special court today yet this is the only pic available:

For the past year or two, that statement could be made about Can'ter pretty much after every game. Dude is always complaining.

Also, last year's "city editions" looked much better.

The Hawks' City jersey this season are indeed underwhelming.

But those Denver and Utah jerseys are pretty fly.
