So, what do you think about his play this last few games?
Are you surprised?
Dissapointed?

What do you expect from him long term?

Do you expect him to be back next season?

No real complaints, he's been predominantly everything as advertised. Heady veteran player, seems to have formed a very quick bond with Ilyasova in the PnR, steady handle, defense is comprised of frantic hand waving. I'd say my biggest complaint was his shooting overall but he's picked that back up in April to his career norms.

Have little expectations of him in the long term or to be back next season, he's only a stopgap for a team with extremely poor PG depth. Might play situational minutes in the playoffs as a secondary ball handler and floor spacer as I believe the bench ball handling duties will be given primarily to Bazemore particularly if Wall is going to play over 40 minutes.

As expected. Capable vet PG that runs the offense the way Bud wants. Defense as expected.

Yea, he's been playing as expected thus far, nobody expected him to light the world on fire when he signed.

Calderon gets a C+ from me.

Hawks have repeatedly gone out of their way in the last 15 months to acquire a vet PG presence. Last year's pickups, Kirk Hinrich and Jarrett Jack, didn't amount to much.

But Calderon was able to come in immediately and fill a need at backup PG. His defense has been sub-par. But we knew that coming in.

JC has proven to be a steady hand at lead guard. But, it's noteworthy that we often go without a PG on the floor for long stretches. Leaving T Hardaway Jr and Kent Bazemore as the primary ball handler. This likely indicates that Bud's faith in Calderon (and 3rd string PG Malcolm Delaney) is limited to short stretches.

I think Calderon gets an offer to comeback. But the team (and player) will sift through other offers in Free Agency first.

I suspect former Hawks backup PG Shelvin Mack will get first dibs at the 2nd string spot this summer--due to his familiarity with the staff/system and his ability to man both guard spots.

Remember: Calderon was supposed to be with the GS Warriors this post-season, before an unexpected injury changed their needs. He likely ends up with another true contender. Next season.

Jack was signed this season (vet min at training camp - later cut). Kirk was 3rd stringer behind Jeff and Dennis last year.
