So now we know why Bud was overseas, able to have dinner with Dennis.


He's scouting players we drafted years ago. This is a good sign.

At age 22, I'd like to see this kid brought over.

But seeing how we gave up on Bebe and Tavares without them ever contributing to the big league squad -- I'm hesitant to let Budenholzer sign him to an NBA contract. Maybe it's better to just let Dmitrios stay overseas and us keep control over his rights a little longer.

I hope he's able to at least play in the Summer League. He's got good size and skillset for the PF position.

I don't think we gave up because we just didn't want them. I think we saw that they didn't have the upside we had hoped for. Neither is really doing anything now.

We drafted project big men who were years away from contributing -- then tossed them aside after a few months. That makes no sense.

We need to either stop drafting project big men, or get better at drafting.

NOTE: There's a distinct possibility that Budenholzer simply isn't good at developing/utilizing Centers. Tiago, Pero, Horford and Dwight all saw decreased production in his system. Bebe, Edy (and Adreian) each flamed out in a matter months.


That's a lot of sub par Center play for it to be a coincidence.

Decreased production?????
Tiago - a walking injury machine.
Pero - really? Who knew what a Pero was? He was forced into a starting role when Al went down with injury then he headed back to Europe to please his wife.
Bebe - we didn't bring him over, he did not play in one NBA game for us. Ferry traded him because Bebe was forcing the issue to come over.
Edy - wished we had a D-League team. from what I heard didn't progress as quickly as they had anticipated.
Adreian - just a bad pick overall
Dwight - had his best statistical season since his Orlando days IIRC, did not lead to wins on the court because despite the numberhe's not Orlando Dwight.
Horford - ?????

Maybe Al doesn't torpedo his playoff efficiency too badly in the Cleveland series so the narrative can continue that Bud makes centers worse.....despite Al posting a worse regular season in nearly everything but assists and three point shooting (the thing Bud was criticized for forcing him to do).

bad drafting because of bad scouting = failure
