SUMMER LEAGUE - - 2017

Post#1 » by graymule » Wed Jul 5, 2017 8:11 pm

[Hawks have upcoming Summer League games on the 7th, 9th and 10th of July.i
][/i]
Last time I looked, we should have an exciting team this summer.
What do you think?

On our latest three way trade, the way I understand it, we gave up a second round pick.
We received a first round pick, Diamond Stone for our new D-League team and Jamal
Crawford and enough cash to buy him out so he can go play with the Clippers.

Hawks will now have three first round picks next year and we have shed two enormous
sized payroll players in D8 and Millsap. With so many players moving west, our Hawks
should make the playoffs again and then, who knows what might happen.

[[[Hey Graymule!! Glad to hear from you! Looks like the gangs all here. I see you've been here a few years but i've just joined. I'm enjoying it so far. Smart folks around here. Once i get PM eligible i'll catch up with you. Left you a couple messages at the other. apologies to the board for putting a pvt message in a post]]]

Still hoping we can trade crawford for something but i don't know. The clips i'm sure tried. Bummed to lose millsap but should be pretty exciting to see what happens.

Whattup GM. Summer league shld be really interesting because we'll probably be watching guys who'll actually see real time this coming year.

However, I don't think it's true that LAC gave us enough cash to buy him out. I saw a report that he'd be owed like $17mil which was why we preferred to trade him rather than buy him out. Can anyone conveve?

Getting a little anxious for it.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

I think the most cash teams can send is $3 million.

Starting this season, the amount of cash to receive is $5.1M (max total for the season, in one or several transactions)
Same amount is allowed to be sent.

Whatever the $$$ cost, apparently Hawks bought out the contract and now he's free.
Wonder what the payroll looks like now? Any one know?

Just found this: TH JR. is no longer a Hawk. They did not choose to match the offer that Knicks
made. He will be a New York player again.
Atlanta's shrinking payroll! Lots and lots of "make good" youth looking for a spot on this year's Hawks !!

They are at $82M right now, Crawford counts for 14M this season, and will count for 3M the following season. Don't know if they thought to stretch it, but if you want to tank this year, better keep more salary for Crawford, and make it end ASAP (next season) instead of stretching it.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
