Two days later, the draft can be seen with a different perspective.
May be just two players can change the face of a franchise: Doncic and Young.
Schlenk thought Young is the player with more chances to do that. May be he also thought that if Doncic does not reach the peak he is supposed to reach, would have to play a smaller role and may be be used as a stretch four, where we already have Collins. He is mainly a SF, where we already have Prince.

It does not matter, as you always pick a player based on quality, and not based on filling holes.

One cannot be mad at Schlenk. He, and his team, believe that Young can be the player with a higher ceiling, should things develope good for him.

I have seen a lot of LD, and just a little bit of Young. I believe Luka can be a star, or can make the players around him stars, or good players, but I also think that he is under the risk of overdeveloping too much too soon. He could stop growing as a player sooner than anybody else.

I see Young as a potentially star. Certainly he could end up being a nobody. We all envision himas the next Curry, but he could become a Tony Delk.

Just to make it short: we could be mad at Schlenk for changing Doncic for Bagley (was not there), Bamba, JJJ... but not for risking to get Young, who could potentially be a franchise changer.

Would be really something if Dallas' pick ends up in that 6-9 range and we end up with Cam Reddish (top 3) and Bol Bol next year.

I’m happy with Trae (Nash Zeke), Huerter (Jerry West) and Spellman (Mike Scott).

Next year 2019 draft

#1 (Hawks)
#6 (Mavs)
#11 (Cavs)

I’m really happy!

How about:

#1 Cavs
#2 Mavs
# 30 Hawks???

Probably won't happen but I can dream at least until next season officially begins!

Protections, mayne. We lose both picks if that happens.

Good Point!!! While, I don't really believe the Hawks will win the NBA Championship next season I do hope they don't finish with the worst record in the NBA! I think the Hawks will have a very young roster who will mature and get better as a team as the season(s) progresses! With a couple more good Drafts and a couple good veteran FA signings hopefully they will be ready to be competitive and compete for a NBA Championship in 3-4 seasons!!!

The only way we win a title is if Dennis goes all Super Saiyan and averages something like 50 ppg on like 75% shooting.

I'm surprised how good of a shooter Omari Spellman is.

But he doesn't impress me with his athleticism or frame, he looks like a very undersized center/pf. He looks like Marreese Speights.

The ability to set picks is a major part for bigs now in the NBA, we will see how his wide body and shooting will help out the guards of the Hawks.

We will see if he has the hustle and IQ that Draymond has, but I'll be interested to see how his shooting will affect the other team's defense.

If you compare him to Draymond he'll always fall short, just let him be him and do whatever he does best.
Jay Wright said he had the highest bbiq than anybody he ever coached.

Spellman has nearly the same measurables as Horford while being a better shooter at the same age. Comparions probably end there, but he could be a high end rotation big here.

Coming from the coaching of Jay Wright, he should be more polished than most bigs.

Edit: both measured 6-8 without shoes. Spellman has him beat in both wingspan and standing reach. For pick 30, he's a decent prospect.

Spellman is good for #30 but we need another talented big next draft. Bol Bol will do just fine

You must mean a 3 pointer. David West could always stroke it from 18-20'.

True. Although does that qualify as a jumper? I think technically your feet have to come off the ground for it to be a jumper.

It’s called a kg set shot. He does in on the playground with a cigarette in his mouth.

Du-rag, another loosie behind the ear, black wifebeater, camo shorts, and unlaced Timbs.
