Yet another one. :nonono:

Hawks' Tyler Dorsey Charged with DUII, Driving Without Lights, Open Container

Atlanta Hawks guard Tyler Dorsey was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving without lights and open container after police in Eugene, Oregon, pulled him over early Saturday morning.

According to KVAL, Dorsey's SUV was initially pulled over because it had its lights off.

"We are aware of the situation involving Tyler Dorsey that occurred this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon," the Hawks said in a statement, per WSB's Zach Klein. "We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time."

If convicted, Plumlee will have violated the NBA’s marijuana program. Neither first (warning) nor second ($25,000 fine) violations are typically announced, so it’s unclear where Plumlee is on the progression. A third violation triggers a five-game suspension.

The bigger issue: Why is the NBA penalizing players for something that ranges from a petty offense to completely legal?

According to report Miles Plumlee was arrested in late August while in Long Island , New York and charged with possession of marijuana. He was released on $100 bail...it is unknown what sort of disciplinary consequences Plumlee may face from the Hawks.

This makes five 6 seven Hawks arrested since Summer 2013.

Head Coach Mike Budenholzer - DUI charges (later acquitted)
Mike Scott - Felony drug possession (charges dropped)
Pero Antic -obstructing governmental administration (charges dropped)
Thabo Sefalosha - obstructing governmental administration (later acquitted)
Miles Plumlee - possession of illegal substance (charges dropped)
Dennis Schroder - misdemeanor battery
De'Andre Bembry - reckless driving

Interesting to see how this new front office leadership deals with this...

They are probably dying to void his contract, but my guess is we won't hear any thing else about this.

It's interesting how marijuana is frowned upon but they don't test for performance enhancers in the NBA...also Zbo has some advice for Plum..join the Warriors, Kings, Clippers, Lakers, Blazers or Nuggets and you'll be right where you want to be..lol

All he needs is a good lawyer. Mike Scott got his charges dropped and he admitted the drugs were his. Harsher drugs than Plumlee.

This is why Dennis can't be the face of your franchise.

He simply isn't mature enough to handle the massive expectations and responsibilities.

If the victim is anyone other than Dwight or Cousins I'm going to be pissed.

Sounds like it was just a good ol' fashioned bar brawl/club fight.

According to a police report, officers responded at 2 a.m. ET to a fight call at a hookah bar in Brookhaven, Georgia, where Schroder lives.

The report says a security camera caught Schroder and several individuals in a heated exchange with the victim. The report says Schroder initiated physical contact by shoving the victim. The video also showed Schroder and the individuals striking the victim with their hands and feet, according to the report. Security intervened and pushed Schroder and the other individuals away from the victim, the report says.

Best guesses as to how long he might be suspended, if at all? Is there precedent here?

There'd have to be a guilty conviction or plea first and that may take years before it reaches a court date. Maximum penalty is typically 10 games on a first offense but I don't remember Draymond Green facing any suspension for taking a plea deal in his very similar incident. Darren Collison did serve an 8 game suspension though but that had more to do with it being a case of domestic violence at a time that it was a hot button issue in sports.

Great job posting all the information via images, fellas.
While is bad news, I wish to stay positive, because negative thoughts have crossed my mind about Dennis in the past, so I hope it's not as serious as being reported. I wonder if there is any video footage?

So... Schroder also owns an Atlanta hookah bar. Was this some kind of turf war? haha.

As I have read all this, a bible verse comes to mind. Dennis needs to memorize this one, whether he is a believer or not.

"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me."

1 Corinthians 13:11 NIV

It's time for Dennis to grow up. We need a man to take man sized responsibility at PG for the Atlanta Hawks.
Dennis, don't believe the idea, "This man can't hurt me." He already has. Look at all the trouble you and the
Hawks are in right now. Look at all the bad publicity. You must learn to be big enough and man enough to
walk away.

I don't know what happened or what was said. But, whatever it was, surely the trouble you are facing now
is not worth what you did.

Dennis Schröder, Mike Budenholzer comment on point guard’s recent arrest

The first public statements are here

“I’ve been here four years. Came here at 19 and I think (showed) improvement every year. I just try to get better every day and try to learn. I think we are all human beings. Everybody makes mistakes. I try to learn from it and keep earning my teammate’s trust.”
-Dennis

“Certainly we don’t want any of our players or Dennis to be put in this kind of position, and I think he understands that...We are disappointed that anyone would be in that position.”
-Coach Bud
