Post#1 » by remi_222 » Thu Sep 7, 2017 6:05 pm

Will try to be consistant in the updates all year long with stats and videos ! He signed with ASVEL (owned by Tony Parker and Nicolas Batum) !
He has a big chance to prove that what he has done in the Adriatic League is a real improvement ! Big hope for him !
This will be a nice shot for you guys to see what he is doing ;)

He's not in the starting lineup yet in the begining of the season, I'll post monthly report (stats videos). After 2 games : 12min 4pts 4reb 1blo 1ass

Since they play once a week, it'll be easier to give you guys a report the D-day (im currently unemployed, so it might change during this season :) )

Very good game today for him in a win VS Cholet : 8 pts (4 of 5 FG), 13 reb (5 offensive reb), 2 blocks, 1 ass in 18min.
His time playing is getting better, good chances to see him starting soon !
If I find videos about this game i'll post them

So far : 5.3pts, 7reb, 1bl, 1ass with 69% Fg, 100%FT in 13min.

Next game VS Monaco (best team in the regular season last yr) 10/08.

This kid's draft rights are gonna make a solid trade asset in someone's salary dump someday.

Alpha Kaba! Bring him on. I've never seen a guy with a wingspan like that. Makes Elton Brand look like Kevin Willis.

Kaba got a great game yesterday, with an all-around performance :
14pts/15rbd/3ast/2stl/4blk in 24min

Previous game were:
6pts/9rbd/1ast/2stl/1blk in 14min
6pts/6rbd/1stl in 11min
10pts/5rbd/1blk in 18min

does it deserve a spot on the G league team ? I'd thought about it

Isn't he a player that we should be developping? There is every indication that he can develop into at least a rotation worthy C. Is it a money thing to not bring him over for some GLeague / NBA development?

Nothing against the French L but this is supposed to be a time for developping our young players.

Guess our NBA / GLeague roster is so stacked that we don't have room for him.

At this point in the rebuild I would 100% prefer Kaba and a 2019 pick to Dedmon but I don't value vet presence and a few more wins during a 20 something win season. Rather develop our young guys internally and grab draft assets with what little trade material we have.

Can also pick up vets for next to nothing

#1: Have you heard a report that we turned down a Dedmon for expiring+2019 first trade? That seems to be what you are hinting at.

#2: Kaba is under a multi-year contract with his French team already. He signed the deal before the start of last season. He would need to be bought out and maybe we/he doesn't want to do that right now. The deal is three years so maybe he comes over after that.

If ATL wants him now, it's up to him, not ASVEL.
He signed for three years, but has opt-out options for ATL if he wants. But he can be interested to stay with ASVEL, he was one of the best efficient player of the french league, just had not enough playing time to be recognized like one of the best player of the league.
Maybe he got promise of more playing time, and that ASVEL will signed a proven veteran player at his position.
If that's not the case, it would be better to have him now
