Hawks host Blake Griffin and struggling Clippers
Mike Budenholzer and company play host to the struggling Los Angeles Clippers.
the visitors have dropped nine consecutive decisions. Some of the issues for Blake Griffin’s squad can be traced to injury concerns but, more than anything, the Clippers are just playing bad basketball at the moment, leaving plenty of optimism for the home team.
Rookie big man John Collins could be in line for his first NBA start this evening, as both Luke Babbitt and Mike Muscala have been ruled out with injuries.
Las Vegas sees the Clippers as a short (3.5-point) road favorite in this game and, from a roster perspective, Los Angeles is the better team while featuring the two best players on the floor in Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Still, it could easily be argued that Atlanta is playing superior basketball at the moment and an A-plus effort from the Hawks would likely be enough to secure a victory over a team once thought to be playoff-bound.

The above matchup would be incredibly fun to watch. But I predict fouls prevent us from getting much one-on-one play early.
Clippers have been unexpectedly terrible. It'd be pretty fun to see Clippers get a top 5 pick next year. Bamba or JJJ alongside Griffin would be nice to watch for the next few years.

The Clippers look really bad. Losing to the last place Hawks would really compound their struggles.

We should definitely have a shot at winning this game. The Clippers are one of the most undisciplined teams in the entire league. They are missing some serious chemistry and cohesiveness. I haven't checked the game line yet but if I had to guess I would say it should be Clippers -1.5.

Watching Collins is like watching Nique....I can and can't believe that I just said that. Wow! Don't wake me up from this Thanksgiving highlight reel.

Notes:
John Collins is turning Phillips Arena into the highlight factory again. When he gets better overall and the rest of the league takes notice, he will be must see tv, and he will get us a few nationally televised games by himself.
Marco Bellineli has the worst good shot selection other than maybe Steph Curry. He takes shots that would put another player on the bench but they somehow go in.
Josh Maggett really impressed me. Was taking care of the ball, making the right reads, swinging the ball beautifully. If he finds the confidence to consistently take and make that three point shot then we could have ourselves a nice little role player moving forward.
Tonight was a good night for the tank. Got the Clips a win to put some daylight between us, and Harrison Barnes went all kinds of clutch, hitting a 3 at the buzzer with 0.5 left to give the Mavs a win.

Bembry hits a 3 - maybe the fractured wrist helped his shooting. Took him 16 tries (IIRC) before he hit a 3 last season.
Dedmon shooting 3s like a boss, lol.
When it's time, I can't wait to see Bud start incorporating a midrange PnP with Collins, test out the midrange jumper. Double double for the kid.
