GO HAWKS!

It's a hard L to swallow being up 1 with the ball 35 seconds from the final buzzer, but one that was necessary for the tank.
One year of this hardcore tank after 10 consecutive playoff years is fine. Heck, even another tanking season next year will be fine. But idk if I'll be able to keep rationalizing this with myself beyond that if we miss on those draft picks that result from the tank.

Riding in our tank this season is painful. Orlando continues trying to root us out of our position on the bottom
of the NBA. Even if the Hawks end up on the bottom, there is no guarantee that we get the #1 pick. Orlando
faces the same problem. Good thing is, there appears to be more than one desirable pick available.
With the trade deadline coming soon, maybe we should trade some veterans to Orlando for their pick. I know,
it ain't going to happen, but, just a thought.
As ATL Boy says, if this entire idea of tanking doesn't work out, we grab some most desirable draft picks and
they turn out to be just run of the mill players or worse, a complete flop, we will all weep bitter tears. We
recall that, a few years ago, there were four or five draft picks and all of them had a "guarantee" that they
would have their team in the NBA finals every season. We all knew that was impossible but it was great for
which ever team selected them to dream.
We have veterans who are short term. Their contracts are expiring. We have more big men than we know
what to do with. Who will still be on the Hawks roster after the trade deadline? Then, on draft night, we
will probably see more movement.
When Atlanta opens next season in their newly renovated home, we expect to have a newly renovated team
to show to all the fans. This season, Hawks got the dirty end of the stick with the schedule. We can only
hope, with everything else new, we will have a better schedule. We might even get a national televised
game. Gee. I hope everything works out, don't you.....
