I keep asking myself, when? What is the exact date that we really need to know? So, I looked it up.

Trade deadline - - February 8th.

NBA Lottery drawing - - May 15th

NBA Draft - - June 21st.

Remember the old truckin song - "We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there!"

It's just 15 days until the trade deadline. Will we or won't we? Can we or can't we? Goodness! Who will
be gone in 15 days and who will be left? If they are gone, what did we get in return?

To tank or not to tank? We know that we really need to have that high draft pick. Desperately. Of those
players we keep now, can we possibly move them at the draft? Certainly not those veterans who's contract
will have already expired. But, everyone on the team doesn't expire at the end of the season.

I hope i'm wrong but i expect that we come out of the trade deadline with a lot of future picks and not much else.

^Personally, I'd be very okay with this.

We are 7 months into a rebuild. A clean cap sheet and a plethora of draft picks are the most important assets to have at this stage.

Yup this. If we get a really good draft pick we might get a guy whose contract expires after next season...some other type of plum (lee).

I'll be surprised if we manage any future firsts. Maybe if they are heavily protected.
