Cousins was playing well and I was pretty excited about the team. It was great seeing something different in the NBA.

I think Boogie will come back with a weight issue. Just saying. So on top of rehabbing the Achilles, he'll have to get his weight back under control.

I'm glad you brought that up, bird. By all accounts, due to the type of injury, Cousins will likely have to lose weight. He won't have a choice. So I'd say it's the contrary. He'll likely come back lighter.

Take a look at most of the other guys (except Kobe, he's not human) that has had Achilles injuries and how they looked heavier. Brandon Jennings, Wes Matthews, Rudy Gay just to name a few in the recent past.

I still really like Mario Heznoja as a free agent target this summer.

He is avg 13 ppg and 6 rpg over the last 5 games while shooting 48% from 3-pt range.

The kid looks pretty good and has good size/fluidity.

Interesting note: he's apparently really close with Elfrid Payton.

Mario Hezonja has been Payton’s best friend on the Magic for nearly three years. While he admitted that it was sad to see Payton go, he added that the situation wasn’t completely dire because the point guard will get more of the playing time that he had missed out on...

So, now that Jabari Parker is back on the floor, has he looked good enough to warrant a 'come match me, bucks!' offer?

Teams made a mistake overlooking both of these guys for the playoff push. Dedmon is the better player but Moose would have delivered nicely in the playoffs for a team like Boston, Denver, or even the Wiz. The Wiz should have acquired Dedmon and put him in the starting lineup.

All I can say is perhaps the Wiz finally learned their lesson by finally not trading a 1st rounder for a marginal improvement. They are a team that has hung banners for "we talked tough to teams we lost to" for the past 15 years.

A minor pending Free-Agent I've been impressed by of late:

PG Trey Burke. He seems to have refined his game and found his niche as a backup PG.

I'd be more than okay pursuing him for a similar role this summer. (On a lesser deal.)

Will Barton is another guy I'd like us to pursue, assuming he could be signed on a short/reasonable contract.

Those are both types of guys that would've been helpful to our previous teams off the bench. Not so much now.

Sign a guy like that to our building team and he'll be looking to have a bigger role which is not what we want.

We can only have so much youth. We currently have 4 players in their 1st or 2nd year of pro ball.

We have another 4 draft picks this summer. (Though it's reasonable to expect us to stash or consolidate some of those selections.)

That's reasonably 6-8 players next year still on rookie deals.

All that to ask...what type of players should we be looking at in Free Agency that we can reasonably expect to sign?
Older or younger players?
Starters or backups?
Wings or bigs?

And what's the difference between Malcolm Delaney over Trey Burke at Backup Guard?

That's a body blow, sir. Everybody knows DelaneySucks so a one-legged kangaroo would be an upgrade.

I'd prefer we pursue guys with upside. Guys like Burke n' Barton are what they is ... is what they are?

:o

Trey Burke was a G League has-been two months ago...but now after a dozen+ games played in the NBA this year he has no upside?

I'd say he has more upside than Dedmon, Taylor or Ilyasova -- the free agents we actually signed last summer.

Big picture, I believe we should be drafting for potential and upside. But you need actual players who can come out and produce while those young players develop slowly.

So they don't get too used to losing and overwhelmed on a bad team.

What do you see as the best version of Trey Burke?

I'd say we're seeing that right now. 6th man, scoring punch off the bench in limited minutes. That's not a player for us right now.

That's my point.
