Game Thread: Hawks at Magic -- 2/8

The deadline arrives later today. Then, the Hawks have a basketball game.
The Atlanta Hawks have a basketball game on Thursday evening, even if that does not seem to be the focus for many people.
While the Magic have struggled for most of the season, Orlando is playing some of its best basketball right now, much in the way that Atlanta may be. The Magic have won three of four, including a wild win over Cleveland on Monday, and those victories come as the team is quite shorthanded in the absence of players like Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic.
With that said, the Hawks can absolutely expect to be competitive on the road in this spot and Atlanta’s struggles away from Philips Arena don’t necessarily change that.

I expect Marco Belinelli to be traded before today's deadline. I hope we gain some decent value for him and I hope he gets traded to a true contender.
Orlando is favored to win by 3 points.

Orlando opened up as favored to win but now are a +2 underdog.

Prince needs to work on his ball handling and decision making this offseason.
Bembry was in warmups tonight, not a suit, so I'm guessing he's close to a return to action.

Just finished watching the game...I thought the Magic were gonna hand it to us at the end..great loss.

Mack and Schroder are former teammates but, asked if they are cool, Schroder said: “No, not really.” myAJCSo Dennis and Shelvin dislike each other...interesting.

That's not too surprising. Dennis came into the league super cocky and Shelvin was his competition. Shelvin was the better player back then.

Dennis' entire quote 'no, you don't push someone after the whistle'. I think that's why Dennis was more annoyed than anything. Context matters.

He made that follow-up comment later in the interview. MC simply put them in the same paragraph:

As for his reaction to the play, which was ruled a common foul, Schroder said: “When the referee calls something you are not supposed to push somebody down (after). That’s how I felt. It’s over now so I am moving on.”But, again, the fact Mack laid a hard foul on his former teammate after the whistle is noteworthy.
