GSW, in hot pursuit of top seed, visits Atlanta

The Warriors swept last season’s series 2-0. The Hawks broke a four-game losing streak with a 107-102 victory over visiting Indiana on Wednesday night. Atlanta played one of its better games of the season, especially on defense. Despite the win, Atlanta has still lost six of eight.

One game after facing the NBA’s third-best 3-point defense at Washington, the Warriors should have an easier time in Atlanta. The Hawks rank 29th in the league in 3-point defense, allowing opponents to shoot 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Warriors are No. 1 in the NBA in 3-point percentage, shooting 39.8 percent.

The Hawks lead the league in turnovers by opponents, forcing 15.5 per game. Meanwhile, the Warriors rank 28th in the league when it comes to taking care of the ball, turning it over 13.5 times per game.

Former Warriors benchwarmer Bazemore is carving out a nice career in Atlanta. He’s averaging career-bests of 12.8 points and 1.56 steals per game.

Schroder is putting together a career year in his second season as the Hawks starting point guard. He is averaging a career-high 19.3 points and 6.1 assists. Defense still isn’t a strength, but he’s working on it.

Keys to the game:

1. Close out hard on Scurry and take away his airspace to land. (Like Zaza did with Kawhi).

2. Close out hard on punchface and daddy’s boy, Kray And take away his airspace to land. (Like Zaza with Kawhi).

3. Lure Durant into a physical battle. He’s a cupcake and has serious self esteem issues about his body. Let Prince just harass him. Take away airspace...no room to land.

4. Ghetto Green...get in his head. Let him know that the prostitute he might currently be dating might also be dating Klay...another version of the splash brothers perhaps?

Hawks 128
Warriors 99

After Indy screwed us we can't afford to beat golden state.

:nonono: :nonono: , you  ?..no mo wins.
Indy didn't take advantage of our GL lineup and it cost us.

You have to make a decision if your love for the Hawks getting the #1 pick is greater than your hate for your Dubs...c'mon Spud to the right thing 8-)

This is the hot ticket in town tonight.
GS is favored to win by 13 points so let's hope we don't shock them as an underdog.

Wow, Hawks are an underdog? After beating Indy I would have thought we would be favored tonight *Eye Roll*

There's absolutely nothing beneficial in the long term that would come out of us beating these guys tonight. It would behoove us to have them finish ahead of Houston for the sake of our Rockets pick, and we really can't afford this big of a win in the tank race.

But man, there are gonna be a lot of Warriors "fans" in the crowd tonight, and I'll be in the building. Winning this one would be huge for the memory banks... I'm so conflicted.

I hate to be negative but we won't win.
We may keep it close but winning won't happen tonight.
Congrats on being there!

Man, I miss ZaZa.
I love watching his style of play and happy that he's having success with Golden State. I will always remember him turning down a huge contract to team up with the Warriors.

He just ripped a rebound out of both hands of Collins.

Iggy always act like a coach now after Kerr gave him the clipboard for one game. I suppose it's what he intends on doing in the future?

The refs thought Golden State called a time out and Kerr speaks up about it saying he didn't call one. Iggy follows Kerr to voice his opinion to the refs as well...lol

No worries GS should put up 65-67 at half.

Curry is scoring easily on us.
Golden State has this one.

Looking around the league, Chicago is too good at tanking, and Dallas is in it to win it..lol
