Game day preview: OKC Thunder seek to clip Hawks

The OKC Thunder arrive in Atlanta to play the second night of a back to back set. Although the team garnered a win over the Kings last evening once again they flirted with the outcome instead of jumping on what should’ve been an easy victory.

Atlanta is also in a competition to be the worst team in the Association as they attempt to win the tank race. Still, this Hawks squad won’t just roll over and hand the win to the Thunder. Too many players who generally wouldn’t get minutes are looking to make their mark.

Therefore, the OKC Thunder need to jump on Atlanta early via aggressive defense and remove any hope.

Since the Hawks are in more of an evaluation phase, this game is as close to an upper tier G-League squad.

This year the Thunder took the initial meeting in a close game 120-117.

Ok that was a fantastic half and we already proved ourselves...let’s tighten the reigns a tad eh?

^I know I'm in the minority, but these improved games make me feel like we should be shopping him harder for picks as his value peaks.

Many kudos to Taurean Prince. He's absolutely stepped up as a primary option on this team and he seems to be brimming with confidence.

Order was restored in the second half. I appreciate our team's fight but this was just one we couldn't afford to win. It was really cool watching Russ get his 100th triple double in person.

Hmmm...well, as far as I’m concerned if you aren’t a top 20 player in the league, you are touchable. We don’t have a top 20 and Prince certainly isn’t one. However with a guy like Prince, it’s going to be hard to get replace the little things he does and the toughness he brings...there are a few throwback guys out there who play really hard and he’s one of them. I just love guys like him. He gives us a mental toughness and he’s been doing that since day 1 and in the playoffs as a starter last year. As a fan, I can’t ask for much more than what he’s doing right now and I’m excited to see him play even during our tankathon.
