Ben Simmons is Questionable for Hawks Game

The star rookie point guard is questionable for tonight’s game

Read on Twitter

In any event the Hawks are lousy, and want to be lousy down the stretch. They are tied with the Dallas Mavericks and the Orlando Magic as far as records are concerned, and if they’re smart they’ll employ a rotation that guarantees them a loss tonight. Better to pick 3rd than 5th — obviously. With that being said, whether Ben plays or not, the Sixers can win this game. It won’t be a cakewalk without their lead initiator, but the Sixers are still more talented than the Hawks sans Embiid & Simmons.

If Ben Simmons does indeed sit the night out, it could mean more Markelle. A lot more Markelle.

UPDATE: According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, when Brett Brown was asked who would start at PG if Simmons can’t go, Brown responded that he was “unsure” and then followed it up with “Probably ‘Kelle.”

Oh for the love of God is Simmons not playing? Comon already. Hopefully Marco and Ersan can take it to us...smh. I hate rooting against us it’s just so unnatural and backwards.

I might pass, they are already "hot" coming in and will probably get this one too.

Schlenk needs to make an executive decision. No Collins, Dedmon, or Prince tonight. The last 2 were 'must lose' games if we wanted a chance at the #2 pick. Now this game is a 'must lose' if we hope to stay in the top 5. It should have never even come to this.

While I agree we need to lose...

If TS were to do this, I think Budenholzer would likely resign literally after the game in the locker room.

That'd be a massive overreach by an executive - dictating the starting lineup & PT to a veteran Head Coach.

I agree with this as far as Schlenk being too involved, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Bud will get over it.

Well this is it folks. Another Hawk season about to wrap up. It’s been a super tough one on all of us, for me personally I’ve only witnessed one season worse, the 04-05 kids with the Joshes. I think we may have only won like 24 in 2002 or 2003 as well. In any event, we definitely seems to gel in the end and hopefully we can pick up on this hot streak (starting next season).

I’m very optimistic about our future, seems bright whether we get the 1st pick or the 5th.

GO HAWKS!!!!! (Again not tonight)

I hope Bembry is healthy next season. He's our swiss army knife, jack of all trades guy.
Gotta work on his 3 ball.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
