Cleveland Atlanta Trade

Post#4202 » by Hawk88 » Fri Jun 7, 2019 10:25 pm

What would be the cost of obtaining Cleveland's No. 5 pick. The players 4-8 are all ranked pretty equally by most assessors. So if they Hawks decided they wanted to swap what do you think the cost would be. 8+10 for 5 seems to high. I don't see Schlenk doing that deal. Would it be 8 and a second rounder? Would it be 8 and the pick they owe us in trade and a second rounder?

I really don't like the idea of moving up to 5 at all.

If it were up to me we would keep our three first rounders but that doesn’t seem like likely these days, so if we plan on moving up, it’s 3rd pick or bust for me. Everyone but RJ feels like a reach if we package our picks.

I'm assuming 10+17 gets us close, and maybe some 2nds.

Someone on the Cavs message board suggested the price to move to 5 should be 8, 10, 17 and next year's pick back. I'm not kidding.

Wow. I'd rather draft at every pick than do anything remotely close to that.

Crazy talk.
I wouldn't do 8 and 10 for 5.

that would really be a move for a point guard as things currently are playing out; atlanta would be crazy to do that. i only see a big move for rj, who might be worth it. I don't think that most people would value a 5 as 8+10+17, and I don't see why it would make sense given the RELATIVELY consistent potential value with a lot of the guys in the 4-12 range.

6th man shooter off the bench. Could be a legit microwave scorer.

Schlenk doesn't draft players on the basis of one skill. That's both what he's told us, and that's what he's done. Probably because he knows he can always pick up that player off the FA market.

Well Herro isn’t just a shooter. He’s a shot creator. He’s pretty good off the dribble and really has a nice set of offensive tools that would be perfect for a bench bucket-getter like suggested in the post above you.

I see what you mean.

We only have Baze. Bembry. Huerter. Crabbe. Anderson.

Can't assume Vince is coming back to be our sixth SG... we need insurance at that position. :noway: :-? :o :D

Heard Vince to Heat is a possibility but I would love Vince for another tour. I swear he mentors the crap out of our kids.
