Damn! Trae hangs in the air to complete this pass.

Even as a HS teenager, he was already showing supreme talent alongside that mediocre athleticism.

I know many of us have compared him to Nash. Just looked this up but Nash averaged 7.7 assists a game in his 6th full season in the league at age 27.

Trae is averaging 7.7 assists as we speak...as a rookie at age 20.

Thank you Hawks! Finally nailed it!

As much as I love Trae we gotta take all these comparisons to historical players with a large grain of salt. We can all see from watching the games in the past couple years just how much easier it has gotten to play offense. Not really fair to compare stats from today to stats from even 10 years ago. I prefer to compare what Trae has done to what other rookie PG's have done over the past 5 years or so.

For sure... at the very least we should adjust to pace if we want to compare absolute nubmers. Back when Nash played in Dallas they had 92.8 offensive posessions per game while Trae's Hawks have over 118 possessions per game. Adjusted Nash would have averaged 9.8 assists that season with Dallas if they were playing at the pace we are today. In his prime the "fast paced" Suns averaged 102 possessions.

I disagree, every night at his position, you got an all star with 19 teams. What Trae is doing is rare and remarkable. The level of readiness he has is elite. Let's not discount what anyone of this generation is doing. It is extremely difficult and they are doing it in less mins as well.

Glad the league finally took notice. This still doesn't make up for Simmons getting it over him a few week ago though. Better late than never I guess. I get the feeling this will be the first of many Eastern Conference Player Of The Week awards for Young. 8-)

Hope league rewards you with Zion. Great program and love Pierce.

It is crazy how he has adapted to the game. If we can pair him with a stud wing who can score he would be even more lethal.

Harden is a bigger, better rebounding version of Trae with lower IQ and team orientation. High praise for James I think lol.

I’m well past the point of being concerned about his offense. I don’t mind the insane three point heaves at all, especially if The Don doesn’t. It seems as if they don’t hurt as much going the other way. The whole team knows a stop has to happen after a wild miss so it kinda fuels the defense in a strange way. I’m most concerned about Floor Game Shawty. He helped create a turnover in transition by getting back quickly and helping attack the ball. Those are the plays that have me daydreaming about that O’Brien.

Right. My first thought was “he’s fully mastered on ball play?”

Outstanding analysis of his passing on SB, from a guy I’m pretty sure isn’t even a Hawks fan:

It's nice to see many people admitting they where wrong about Trae. The young man seems to have it on the court and off the court. Already locking down his girlfriend and winning the hearts of Atlanta fans with his play on the court.
