Early 2019 tank race thread

So, who are the early favs in the 2019 tank race?
I say Hawks have to be seen as early favs. Recent powerhouses like DAL and PHX are signing nice FAs which will likely take them out of the running. Another past fav; MEM will be healthy and are going to drop in the rankings.
Who's left to challenge for the tank race and the right to the top pick that goes to the winner?
CHI, CHAR, NETS and of course SAC will need to be closely watched.
All in all the Hawks are in a very good place. TSchlenk will likely solidify the Hawks odds with some summer moves to fortify already very good positiong.
Hawks leader Schro was recently quoted "I don't really like driving tanks, but you have to admit, it's the race we have the best chance to win"

Hawks shouldn't tank, they can be decent if they want to be. Morally, i don't believe in taking more than once a decade.
But going back on topic. Wouldn't Brooklyn tank this year? or do they still owe their draft pick to other teams?

Tanking isn't a moral issue, it's a sucking issue

Brooklyn won't, they don't owe anymore pick though.

Ahhhhh, I dunno about that man. We’re gonna be pretty awful. We stripped it down the the studs these last couple years, I think we’ll be about the same as last year at the beginning, and by the end of the year be miles better but still not very good. Too many young dudes who need minutes

Sacramento owe their pick to the Celtics unless it's the #1 overall. I doubt that they tank.
Mavs won't tank and I'm seeing a lot of their fans on twitter pounding their chest, acting like the Jordan deal will push them into the playoffs. IMO all the Jordan deal did was enhance our chance of picking between 6-10, that team isn't sniffing the postseason.

Yeah! The Hawks deffinately in a good position. I hope TS fully max the opportunity. Two drafts at the very top of the draft and a gradual fade.
Nothing against Dedmon and Moose, but they are trade ins for future talent. Schro too

Cleveland is going to be awful, Wizards, Rap are going to take a step back. Alot of the teams in the east either got alot worst or a little bit worst. Their are only 3 teams that are going to get alittle bit better will be the Celtics and Pacers, and that isn't saying much, and when you think about it, the Hawks will be that 3rd team that actually got alittle bit better from 2018 to 2019. Hawks didn't lose any major starters, Collins, Prince, and Dennis are one year better, and now you are adding Trae.
Celtics, Pacers, and Sixers are locks for the top 4 spots in the east.
It will be wait and see for the Rap, Wizards, Knicks, Bucks
The rest of the teams in the east are going to be god awful, so it will be a free for all for the 8th and 9th spot.

Going back on topic... Wouldn't the Nets be the front runners in the tank race this year. I think their fans are starving for a #1 overall pick.

In the "underverse", last place is first place. Yay indeed.

Three game winning streak, baby.
I suspect this will further ensure Travis moves vets by this season's trade deadline.

...the Hawks are trending upward for the time being. They are six games behind the Pistons (16-17), who currently hold the eighth spot in the conference.
Under first-year coach Lloyd Pierce, the Hawks struggled to start the season as the organization’s near-total rebuild began a second year. On Nov. 25, before a win over the Hornets, Pierce shook up his starting lineup. He replaced Kent Bazemore with rookie Kevin Huerter at shooting guard.
The Hawks have gone 8-8 since. That includes losing starting small forward Taurean Prince two games later to an ankle injury. Prince has missed the past 11 games. Bazemore returned to the starting lineup in place of Prince. He left Saturday’s game with an ankle injury.
“To look at how we were playing, how we were starting games specifically, to stay the same would have been an indictment on me,” Pierce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution last week of the lineup change.
