Peachtree HoopsHawks vs. Pelicans preview: Atlanta hosts New Orleans to open preseason slate
The Atlanta Hawks take the floor on Monday evening in the first of five preseason contests and, in the opener, the New Orleans Pelicans arrive for a contest set to take place at Georgia Tech’s McCamish Pavilion. There is a lot to be gleaned for a team that is led by a new head coach in Lloyd Pierce and, while it would be wise not to overreact to anything that is “put on tape” in this spot, there is plenty of intrigue.
At the time of this post, Pierce has not revealed his starting lineup and the decision at the point guard position (between Lin and Trae Young) is the central point of interest. Still, both are expected to play significant minutes in every game when the regular season begins, taking a little bit of heat away from the choice in a practical sense.
Jeremy Lin is not listed on the injury report just 12 months after suffering a major knee injury.
But, Peachtree Hoops will be live on the scene to provide real-time updates on Twitter and plenty of post-game coverage, though, so stay tuned.
Pelicans SB NationNBA Preseason Preview: New Orleans Pelicans look to rebound on second night of back-to-back against Trae Young and Atlanta Hawks
The Pelicans could rest their stars in a meaningless game, but fans should be treated to plenty of shine from Elfrid Payton and possibly Trevon Bluiett
The New Orleans Pelicans fell short in a track meet against the Chicago Bulls last night, 128-116. Monday night’s game will be a test for some guys fighting for regular season minutes, and for others, a place on the 15-man squad. Expect to see high doses of Elfrid Payton who led the Pels’ with 25 minutes, Solomon Hill, Ian Clark, Cheick Diallo, and all of the youngsters battling for future paychecks. don’t be surprised if you don’t see the two superstars.

I hope Elfrid doesn't go to hard at him.
The era of Trae has begun!!!

Yes. Why don't they televise these games. Surely they draw enough viewers. I'd like to go but can't make it tonight.
