Rockets/Pelicans interested in Bazemore???

The only salary filler is Anderson and he's making a hair more than Bazemore.  Unless we are getting something worthwhile I don't get this.

If we an somehow send Plumlee along I'd take back Anderson, the Hartenstein kid they just signed (can't be traded until Aug. 24th)  Melton and 2020 1st unprotected.

Per the article, Why would the Hawks not want Hill from NOP? He's making less than Anderson in the same 2 years. The NOP 1st round pick would be better than the Rockets 1st unless NOP isn't offering a 1st?

Or do they really want Anderson to fill the backup PF slot instead of a wing?

Because Hill makes Dennis look like a 3-point champion out there.

I would be wary of taking on RAnderson unless Hawks are getting at least two FRPs. 41 mill is a huge amount of cap space to give up for very little value in terms of RA. Particularly when Baze has significant positive value for Hawks (and, if needed, his contract can likely be moved w/o big cost). And when HOU's picks will be end of first round.

RAs defense of perimeter players was always bad and he also became out of sync on offense after his injuries last season, according to Rockets beat writers. He fell out of rotation by playoffs.

Yea, I think it would take two FRPs for Anderson, one FRP+expiring for Hill.

I have no interest in taking on Anderson unless they're giving us at least a distant unprotected first.

I pass on moving Baze ... unless the return is massive (which it shouldn't be). Can't be getting rid of all the vet-voices. Baze's worth as a culture guy exceeds some rando distant late 1st and the indigestion with eating RAnderson's contract, hoping he can maybe possibly be flipped for value later (which may be a possibility next year, I guess).

More than likely if it is a deal with Houston it is for Anderson and some incentive. I don't hate the deal, but I don't love it either. Anderson makes more and is a liability on defense and rebounding.

True but if the "incentive" is some random, protected 1st that turns into a second, or something like that, it's not worth it to me.

I could see it being either lotto or top 20 this year.

I'd prefer a lotto protected future, but not sure if Houston would bite.

Yeah. Seems like most of these deals have been, top-25 protected, turns into 2 2nds if not conveyed. I hate that crap. Either trade a 1st or don't.

Plus, I'd prefer a '20 pick not '19.

Ya'll aiming your sights too low. Gotta fleece the Rockets for as much as you can!

ATL trades
Miles Plumlee - 2yr 25m
Justin Anderson - 1 yr 2.16m

HOU trades
Ryan Anderson - 2yr 41.6m
2020 HOU protected FRP

Keep Bazemore to flip him for something later, preferably while he's having a strong season, at the deadline. With this trade HOU saves like 36m, between the difference in savings of contracts and in lux tax payments for 2018 and 2019. Anderson they get a spare wing to work with. More importantly they duck under the tax apron and then get access to their tax payer MLE, which they can then use for other moves.

Tis the sensible counter offer for any deal eating Ryno.

Unless HOU is willing to fork over 2 FRPs, in that case, Shlenk will personally pack Baze's bags and drive him to the airport.

I think they're trying to beat GSW right now, not save money. Without a 3&D wing, they're in trouble. Baze would fit very well.

Pretty sure the Hawks wouldn't do one FRP and one SRP. Tough choice for Morey.

Bucks are apparently interested in Bazemore now as well. Maybe we can force a bidding war?

Keep Bazemore at least for a few months, so Trae has some reliable backcourt support, someone who can give him some cover and relieve some of what will be hounding defensive pressure if SL is any indication.

New Orleans appears to be doing what they need to do so Anthony Davis stays around.

Hawks are obviously asking a lot for Baze. It'll be good to have him around this season. I actually think he'll flourish playing with younger guys.
