Does the addition of RJ Hunter finish up our training camp roster? I read that it does but isn't that only 18 players, is it at 20 already? Also, what do yall think about Hunter? If Bembry cant stay healthy this year again, I think he gets to suit up for us a bit

Jaylen Adams and Poythress our 2 two-ways GL-ers makes that 20.

Training camp opens in two weeks - Oct 25, and preseason games a few days after that. It is so close now.

Regular season starts Oct 16.

It just seems like they used to have a couple weeks of camp before pre season started.

Interesting...

I always enjoyed 'going away' for camp for sports and other activities. It definitely helped with building camaraderie IMO.

Seems like this will be an annual holiday moving forward. JC Kid's BDay marks the beginning of training camp and preseason.

The Hawks added two more players to their injury list with Daniel Hamilton and Omari Spellman to miss the start of training camp.

Hamilton, a guard/forward, injured his shoulder earlier this month. An MRI exam on Sept. 11 revealed a tear in his right rotator cuff.

Spellman, a rookie forward, experienced left shin soreness last week. An MRI exam showed soft tissue inflammation. He is listed as out for 7-10 days with a gradual return to activity.

5 guys with injuries already.
Spellman needs this time to work on his body.
I wasn't aware Anderson hadvsurgery until last week.

Do you think this ensures he [Spellman] starts the season with Erie?

ESPN's 1st Power Ranking as training camp kicks off.
30. Atlanta Hawks
2017-18 record: 24-58
Result: Missed playoffs
Previous rank: No. 30

How will rookie Trae Young fare in Atlanta's five-out offense? The rebuilding club underwent a number of key changes this summer, hiring coach Lloyd Pierce and dealing point guard Dennis Schroder away to make more room for Young. Beyond that, GM Travis Schlenk appears to be trying to build this team much like the one in Golden State that he came from, with a ton of shooting and floor spacing. Seeing more growth from big man John Collins in Year 2 will be key, but above all else, the development of the new offense -- particularly with Young, who was widely seen as more of a risk than someone like Luka Doncic -- is paramount to the Hawks. They likely won't win much, but seeing positive signs out of their youngest players would provide some hope for the near future. -- Herring

Key additions: Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Omari Spellman, Jeremy Lin, Justin Anderson and Alex Len

Key subtractions: Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala

Depends on how quickly he gets over the injury as well as the injury to Dedmon.
