I'll just say, I'm glad the Hawks have the RIGHT vets on our team mentoring our 3 rookies.

Man, it's a good thing Cleveland won that Kyrie trade last summer. Otherwise, things would *look awful bleak for the Cavaliers.

LD probably feels bad about snaking us out of Giannis years ago. It won't make up for it, but he'll do his best to return us another 1st.

Luka and DJS don't seem to fit very well together early on.

We need them to step it up to retain our hold on that 2019 draft pick.

At what point do Mavs simply let the losses pile up in hopes of keeping that pick?

Luka Doncic and Dennis Smith Jr. are Dallas' most important long-term pieces, and it's a little concerning that they've been so bad together in the early going. According to Cleaning the Glass, the Mavs' net rating is minus-10.2 when those two share the floor. Swap in J.J. Barea for Smith, and Dallas vaults all the way up to plus-17.1.

Before freaking out, note that we're about an eighth of the way through the season. Also, if the Mavericks want to get their kids a lot of reps while piling up losses in pursuit of another lottery pick, they only have to convey their 2019 first-rounder to Atlanta if it falls outside the top five.

It's not that easy finishing bottom 5. The second they signed DJ, the pick chances coming went up dramatically. Sitting at #8 right now :D

Now if CLEV could just stop sucking so bad

I want TS to do big things with this draft. Next season the Hawks will find it more difficult to get a top 3 pick.

CAM at #2/3 and Bol at #8? :)

Trae / Cam / Prince / Collins / Bol

Heurter / Spellman

I remember Orlando starting last season 8-4. It's not how you start, but rather finish. Dallas is not young at all so there is no tanking with their young guys.

Another good win by the Mavs. This puts them #7 on the draft board.

Four W's in a row now against some decent teams. It's highly competitive out West, but I'm nervous about how high that pick is drifting...

Barring some injury setback, that Dallas pick is going to end up in the low teens. Doubtful they make the playoffs, but they're certainly not in the bottom class.

Think DAL will fade. Doncic is doing very well...but They don't really have any depth. Barnes is pretty good. Matthews not so much. They have any injury problems and their roster will be super thin. I'm still looking for a pick around 10

Ya baby Mavs got blasted by the Lakers. Luka the wonderboy had 6 points (2-13fg) (0-5 3pt) 3 turnovers. Nice job Lakers!

Mavs have some nice pieces and the bench is way better than i expected.

Their schedule is rough tho. Fully expect the pick to land in the top ten, just not close to pick six.

Doncic is already the best player on their team. He also seems to carry the team, helping them to play better than they are. Carlisle helps.

How far can Doncic cary them? The west is 14 deep and DAL is talent deficient. They are over-performing.

I wonder if TS's dome will start having a perspiration sheen if Doncic is that good...
