The Charlotte Hornets swept the season series against the Atlanta Hawks last year. They’ll look to continue that when the Hawks come to town

The Charlotte Hornets (5-5) aren’t doing too bad this year. Yes, they’ve lost a few close ones, which is something they need to remedy. They’ve beaten the Miami Heat twice already (something they couldn’t do at all last year), and finally defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers after losing nine straight to them.

Something else positive going for the Hornets is their recent play against the Atlanta Hawks (3-6). Charlotte has won seven of their last eight against their I-85 rivals. Hornets’ fans hope this success continues and with Charlotte going 7-1 in their last eight home games against Atlanta, there’s little reason to think it shouldn’t.

Trae will be asked to score 20+ tonight with no Prince. Bazemore will have to step up as well if we expect to win. Hoping Trae can continue his double double streak.

Taking on prime-Kemba (top-5 in scoring) without Prince or Collins is a tall task for any rookie. I'm in favor of starting Bembry tonight specifically to guard K Walker.

Oh crap, no Prince, that probably means more Heurter and Lin, lets hope they can capitalize on this opportunity. Lin facing his old teammates, maybe something special happens? He'll also be facing Parker, who had a similar injury but seems to be recovering well. Heurter will be matched up against Bridges, another interesting rookie.

Trey vs Kemba, both undersized, with Kemba smaller, a good test for Young, Kemba has been sizzling.

Soph Monk has been an X factor after a poor rookie season, same can be said of Bembry.

More Huerter (he starts). Pierce said Dorsey will get Huerter's minutes.

What a quarter! First Lensanity, then Vinsanity with the vintage dunk, Linsanity nine straight points next; but it was Bridges, that dunk...wow!

Is Baze injured or something? Man, every game someone gets hurt.

The three rookies doing quite well besides some rookie mistakes and missed threes.

Hanging in there thanks to their missed FTs and inability to protect the rim/rebound.

Parker plays PG on O, SG on D, that works very well, Lin might do that when he's more healthy and not in foul trouble. He's found some of his lost game tonight.

Len and Dedmon doing well underneath thanks to good passes from many but especially Trey, wonder what it's gonna be like when JoCo's back.

Lin looks super slow, even when he's successful on the attack.

He's literally moving around like a 40 year old :(

Just gotta keep faith that he'll physical improve as time goes on.

Not sure what you mean but it's just an off game for him. He's fine as a 3&D guy who can handle the ball a bit off the bench.

His FT shooting tho......

Not sure what happened. The Hawks defense completely fell apart in the late 3Q and all of the 4Q.

It was fun to see the three rookies starting, but to be real, this is a game where Lin should've gotten more than 18 minutes. He was hot and confident in his stroke, and yet still limited to 18 minutes. But it seemed like LP was stuck on some pre-set minutes rotation and couldn't improvise based on who was playing well. This is one of those games where it's clear that the team is focused more on development than winning.

Defense and Turnovers killed the 4th quarter.
This was always the plan going into the season.

Bembry didn't play much his rookie season, last season was lost due to injury, played in 26 games.
He's one of the best perimeter defenders on the team, can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim, though he's not great at finishing, needs work. His handle is good enough to run the offense just needs to limit turnovers.
The biggest concern was his abysmal 3pt shooting, going into this game however, he is shooting 43% from 3, so he's trending up.
