Peachtree HoopsYoung’s award covers both October and November and he is the first member of the Hawks organization to win the Rookie of the Month honor since Ivan Johnson (!) in April 2012.
Young benefits from most of the top NBA rookies, headlined by Doncic, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Deandre Ayton, operating in the Western Conference, but he did post per-game averages of 15.6 points and 7.6 assists combined in October and November.
With Doncic winning on the other side and other rookies like Jackson Jr. flourishing elsewhere, Young won’t be stepping out of the spotlight anytime soon. It will be intriguing to monitor his progress throughout the campaign but, at the very least, the 20-year-old now boasts a piece of league-wide hardware.

Watch yourself, Bob.
Rooting for your guy is fine. But trashing the entire eastern conference is gonna get you more push back than you likely want to deal with.

I said, like eastern conference is on par with western. i didn't put any scale how different they are, except Trae and Luka. it's on you to see the difference or not. based on your reaction, you are trashing Trae.

Don't play that game, Bob.
Your comment also had nothing to do with the content of my post.

sure it has. you said they're on pair, knowing that they have got award in different conference. I just remind you, that competition is totally different. Trae is for sure not top3 in ROY race at the moment. and you even put in play next years Mavs pick, emphasising how better the trade was for the Hawks. and I just disagreed.

Oh stahhp.
ATL has played 24 games, 9 against the West, 5 of which were on the road
DAL has played 21 games, 8 against the East, 3 of which were on the road
So the Mavs have played 4 more games against the West than the Hawks have. Not material.

I meant, Trae was better than WCJ, Trier, Miles B., Sexton... Luka was better than Ayton, JJJ, SGA, Bagley... It looks to me that competition is much harder on the west, but maybe I'm wrong.

Nobody's trying to tout one over the other (Young v Doncic). Simply encouraged by our guy and the pick that's coming with him.
And let's not ignore the fact that Doncic is on a team that, at worst, should be competitive and, at best, should be competing for the playoffs with or without him. Same can be said about JJJ. That doesn't mean they're not good rookies but context and supporting cast matter.

I hear you. I'm just expecting DAL to fade (enough) late to fall out of it.
