1. He will go all-in on acquiring Zion, which could mean our and DAL's picks, plus something else... whatever it takes.
2. In free agency, he will push hard to add this recent 1st round center who will be an UFA...

I think Schlenk steals more personnel from GSW.
I could see us:
- making an offer to Andre Iguodala to serve as the veteran presence in the locker room and on the court.
- I'm also gonna guess he packages Taurean and a pick to either move up in the draft or to acquire a higher ceiling veteran.
- Maybe Trav acquires Draymond Green...but that seems like a long shot.

I think we try to get Zion too. Zion may not even end up being a star but it's the kind of move that will get this franchise more attention and can you imagine the highlights with Trae, Zion, Collins?
Say that reminds me. Where can i find stats on dunks? We must be an nba leader in dunks.

I know some particular Hawks blog writers right now are ready to push Prince out the door.... after spending much of the off-season touting what an asset he was developing into... and now, with a pretty significant injury having stagnated that development.
I don't see it at all. Prince is a perfect fit. And I am one of those who believe Zion's arrival, were that to happen. would not require Prince to step back anyhow b/c Schlenk is looking to develop a 10-deep rotation. Then, on the good chance that we don't end up with Zion, Prince is just that much more valuable.

I'd say he'll give us another collective heart attack and trade back..but the return will be greater (less protections) and he'll even manage to dump a contract.
Then follow that up with an offer sheet that will make the Knicks sweat for Porzingis, he fits the timeline.

The Hawks win the #2 pick and move back to #4 trading it to PHX and getting a similar package it got for Doncic.
Hawks draft Reddish and Hunter
Hawks sign DeMarcus Cousins
That's it

I think it all depends where we end up with our own pick and the Mavs pick. What he does if we land #1 and #6 is drastically different than if we land, say, #5 and the Mavs pick doesn't convey.
Until the season ends and the lottery occurs, I don't really see the point in speculation.

Yeah, I know, it's like asking "what do you want for Christmas this year" in January.
But then again... it's not like we have a whole lot to look forward to in the near future, and there's no harm in dreaming.

I have had considerations in my head for Cousins; but do not think Schelnk will risk that much cap on such a high injury risk, who will also turn 29 in August. I could see Cuban rolling the dice though.
I think we will stand pat, make our picks, sign some vets to one or two year ( team options ) deals, and see what shakes loose in 2020/21. Prince is a big question mark for me. I like him but would pull a Ferry and see what his market value is before committing.
I have been thinking 2020/21 since we drafted Collins and started rebuilding. Who knows, maybe Schlenk and Pierce can convince AD that Atlanta is where he needs to create his legacy at.

We need a legit center. We get that, we can fight for HCA in round 1.
Boogie could be a good fit. I'll have to wait and see how this season plays out for him but you never know

Never understand the love affair with Anthony Davis. This dude does not carry his teams to victories. Not great value at all.

Most everyone could use AD. I love John Collins but he has nothing for the Embiid's, KAT's, Durant's, Leonard's, and Giannis's of the league. Seriously, who could not use his athletic ability and 7'6" wing span as a defensive presence?
I do not understand anyone who would not want him TBH. Perfect fit in my mind.

AD is the perfect fit for most of the league. The only reason why he would be available is to win titles, we don't have that personnel yet.

I have been reading up on UFAs and this comes to mind:
One word, one player...Vucevic
Stretch five and great rebounder. With Collins and Vucevic on the team, that pretty much puts us back to the time of SAP and Horford. It will then be up to our lottery picks to determine how far we go. Vucevic is having another career year. Magic have Bamba and they are not getting it done again this year. I don't think they offer him a max at all.
For those that want to cry about defense, his DBPM is at a career high 3.0. John Collins is at a DBPM of -1.2 after being 1.9 last season. Age is the only concern for me. He turns 29 in October. I like it if Schlenk wants to get out of the lottery next season. If he wants to stay with the youth movement, then he won't even consider it.

As of today too many things have to happen to be In a position to get Zion imo. We need him badly, more than any team in the league imo. We need a face to the franchise, someone with identity. We had that but it's water under the bridge now.

7 of the top 10 prospects play SG or SF. I like this draft a lot for us even if we do not get Zion.

As you say, we're looking for something more than just another high quality starter or two. So, I don't like this draft if we don't get Zion. I don't see but maybe 2 or 3 possibilities for that kind of so-called "generational talent" player to emerge: Williamson, Reddish and... mainly because of his advanced talent level at his age but still pretty raw... Doumbouya.

I read a article on Barrett. To paraphrase " He is the best scorer on the best team in college basketball. Do not over analyze him; just draft him if you can."

I think Barrett can be a force. I just don't think he can be "the" player to take a team to the mountain top. He can be a Paul Pierce kind of player. But Pierce before Allen and Garnett was not getting it done. Of the three, Garnett was the closest to the generational talent threshold, and what I'm thinking Schlenk has to swing for the fences to get.
