I would have preferred if he didn't.

Should've been in it last year but better late than never. Can't wait to watch. Hopefully he follows in the footsteps of Nique, Spud and Smoove.

Funny idea but you can’t have the shorter guy playing the role of giant euro stiff. Could still be a great dunk but would not recreate the impact of the original. Doomed to be a pale imitation.

He's one of the best in-game dunkers, but I have a hard time seeing him win the dunk contest. It's cool that he wants to do it, though. He deserves as much fanfare as he can get.

He needs to whip out the Josh Smith jersey.

Ah man, if he did that he'd earn my respect and fanhood for a lifetime.

Why?
I doubt he benefits in the contest by doing it.

Excited to see Collins in the dunk contest. Besides Gordon, Collins is my favorite highlight guy to watch these days.

Agree. It would be great to see Josh get his respect and love. Unlike Horford who left, he is an Atlanta guy through and through. History will view Josh favorably as years go by.

Smoove won during the down decade of the contest and doesn't have enough branding to warrant a tribute. Duplicating a Nique tribute in addition to Vince throwing an oop off the glass would be the move but I'm sure papa Carter already got a trip to the Cayman Islands booked to be bothering with any All Star weekend activity.

NO.
He's got Nique, Spud and Vince to choose from.

No, he can't do Nique. That would just be copying and turn out as lame.

He can do Josh or if the All Star was in TOR he could do Vince, that would be tight!

I really see JC as more of an in-game dunker, so I'll be surprised if he wins. That said, happy for him to build his national profile, and who knows maybe he'll surprise me like Dwight did.

Getting VC is definitely the way to go, in moderation. I'd say he should get VC to assist with the alley oop on this play:

Then do this dunk from VC's contest

After that it's on him to come with some fresh nastiness himself

I love it when players pay homage to the OGs who came before them and paved the way. I’d love it if Collins pulled out the Nique Jersey (like Josh did before), or even a Carter Jersey.

He probably wouldn't, that's why he'd get my respect. It would mean more to fans in Atlanta than it could to the rest of the league.

JC should whip out the Josh Smith jersey or the UNC Vince Carter jersey. That would be awesome!
