If a deal gets done, I have a feeling that Atlanta will be the 3rd team involved. Maybe the Hawks take on some garbage and gives up Baz or Lin or Dead and Atlanta gets 1-2 draft picks.

I'm ok with facilitating the deal for picks.

Sounds like a plan, I'll allow it

Doubt it...Its time to start the build. Trae is our star and John is our rising star. Time to start adding young players with star potential like that Brogdon kid in Milwaukee!

Brogdon is a RFA this offseason and I'm sure he's looking for a starting gig. I can see Orlando and Phoenix offering him a big deal.

I could see MIL choosing Brogdon over Middleton. Quietly, Brogdon is a 50-40-90 kind of player now and a plus defender. Ultra-important glue player. Guard version of what Horford was.

Would have loved Brogdon, but yes, sadly I think that ship has sailed. Think Milwaukee keeps him.

Or just find someone like him either in the draft or free agency... The Guy was a 2nd round pick so I think we can do it. I just don't think that we have to perpetually tank like many suggest.

I’m straight on Davis. His makeup ain’t right for the ultra max, Rich Paul seems to puppeteer his moves. The emotion and fire I saw from Trae late last night is what I’m looking for.

I'd hope that Schlenk makes himself available as a third negotiating partner to facilitate something. Get creative out there at the deadline.

Here is my rental offer. I am pretty sure it will be easily outbid but I don't see any downfall in this:

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yawmlw75

Atlanta Trades:
Dallas top 5 protected 1st 2019
2020 1st round pick swap (favorable to NO)
Bazemore
Prince
Dedmon

New Orleans Trades:
Anthony Davis (Trade Kicker)
Darius Miller
Chik Diallo

Why for New Orleans? That pick we are offering is the best pick they will get for AD and it's not close. Dallas is going to be around the 8-12 range. Anyone else get AD and they are winning games in the East like it's nothing. Prince has a lot of promise. Bazemore is a good leader for a rebuilding squad. Dedmon is a good center for a rebuilding squad and they will give New Orleans some flexibility and roster fit while putting the pieces together. Likely to have a top 5-8 pick, New Orleans is in a good position to win the lottery and add another top 10 pick as well while getting good vets and a quality young wing in Prince.

Why for Atlanta? Other than it's AD, he is a rental for a year and a half. Dumb! Wrong! He will give us a chance to make the playoffs and we would have around 45 million in cap space and could try to attract a superstar SF to entice AD to stay. So let's say he doesn't want to. We can still get Ingram and Ball from LA, flip LA to PHX for Mikal Bridges or ORL for Bamba and call it a day.

Gives us

Trae
Kevin
Ingram
Collins
Bamba

or

Trae
Kevin
Ingram/Bridges
Collins
Len with 45 million to spend.

Win/Win

If NOP is moving A Davis as part of a necessary rebuild, I'd make a play for Jrue Holiday.

He'd make a really good SG option as we move towards being competitive again.

Dangling Bazemore, Taurean, the CLE pick (and Bembry?)...I'd at least make a strong inquiry.

Young
Jrue
Huerter
Collins
Len

is easily a playoff team in the East. And JH would be a worthy trade chip should things not work out.

Spoiler:
Holiday could have explored free agency in 2017. Instead, he opted to sign a five-year deal worth $125 million and remain in New Orleans.

“He’s like 90 percent of the reason that I stayed,” Holiday said, via Nola.com. “He’s a talent that comes once in a generation. A 7-footer who can do everything at his skill level.”

Holiday is averaging career highs in points (21.2), rebounds (4.9) and assists (8.1) this season. He has played alongside Davis since 2013.

NOP will ask for at least Trae or Collins, maybe both right off the bat. So that's a non-starter.
PG was traded for Dipo and lottery pick, Sabonis
Butler was traded for Lavine and lottery pick Makkenan.
Davis is worth more.

We will give them a top 10 potential pick and Prince. We really can't do no better than that for a 99% rental.

There is no harm in offering up a deal like that. I think AD is a stud. He hasn't turned 26 yet. This is a worthwhile gamble to try to convince him to stay.

Lebron, Steph and James Harding are studs...AD is a Very good player! He also is a very expensive good player! Pass!

It's not the best deal but if you want a high draft pick, you can tank and get a really high pick with your pick, get a young talented wing in Prince and get some cap savings with Dedmon, it's a no brainer. AD will waive his trade kicker to make it easier for LA to trade for him and we have 6 months to convince him we can build a contender in Atlanta and if we fail? Get Ingram, Ball and Wagner. Flip Ball for an equal prospect like Bamba or Mikal Bridges and still have 45 million to play with in FA. It's a win win.

If the Hawks want AD, they will have to offer at least Atlanta's 2019 1st round pick, and Dallas' pick. They will also probably ask for Trae or Collins.

Not a chance.

Tell me a team giving them a top 8-11 pick and a good wing on a rookie deal?

Everyone wants to give them established players or their pick which will be crappy if they get AD anyway. Not trading our 1st for a rental. If they ask for Trae or Collins, they can continue to look around. Not happening for a rental.

Everyone will tell them the same thing. I ain't trading high value core pieces without assurance unless they are close to FAs.

I don't see too many teams topping our offer for a rebuilding team.
