Dream offseason

Post#1 » by gurpilo » Fri Feb 22, 2019 2:01 pm

Dream offseason for me

Hawks pick: Reddish, best fit
Mavs pick: Bol, highest upside
Trade Baze for additional 1st rd pick or absorb some salary for additional 1st to draft Doumbouya, 2nd highest upside

Sign DeMarcus Cousins as FA, best fit on this team. I think with Young, Collins and Reddish Cousins could think we can be really good.

Young/Backup PG
Huerter/Anderson/Bembry
Reddish/Prince/Doumbuya
Collins/Spellman/Doumbouya
Cousins/Len/Bol

Very deep, balanced and athletic team, call me crazy but we could be top4 on the east. I also thought we had a chance to win 30 games this year....

Well I wouldn't complain! I doubt Cousins is coming here though.

My dream would be to land the first pick somehow. That's it.

Actually not bad. I'm warming up to the idea of us signing Cousins. I think his suitors will be a bit limited. Big issue being a team like NYK or LAL could over-offer him once they miss out on the Durant/Kawhii sweepstakes. I don't want us to try to out-spend to get him.

Only piece I'd question is the Bol pick. It's quite possible Doumbouya (aka DoughBoya - I'm trademarking that if we pick him) will go before Bol. I doubt we'd be able to get a high enough 1st from Bazemore to pick either. I'd say just use the DAL pick on DoughBoya.

My dream is Zion. He’s the next Lebron and the city of Atlanta deserves this chance!

Bol has much more upside than Doumbouya, his stats are quite modest in Europe. I think Bol goes top 12 and Doumbouya goes around 20, if Baze is not enough that probably is not we can take a big contract for 2 years or even I would consider trading Prince for the French guy. But Bol has the upside to be really special, Doumbouya is more a wild card.

I hear ya. I think we just differ on Bol. I tend to see both he and Doumb as long-term projects, especially after Bol's injury.

I'm not as high on Bol as most. I just see him as one of these new-age "bigs" that're basically just 7' guards. If he can show the meat n' potatoes to his game that Embiid has shown, I'd probably love him. I just don't think that's where he'll be as a player. If that's the case, I really don't want him next to Collins.

Sign Horford or trade for Draymond
Get Iggy
Draft Zion, R.J. or Reddish
I really don't care about the Dallas pick other than we need to have it. I want to hit on that pick. I want to hit a HR with that pick.

I would love to land both Cam and R.J.

...since we're dreaming, Mavs pick at #6, Baze opts out of his $19 mil or we trade him at the deadline for pick #19 which has been a good spot for us 2 years in a row.

Just like others, my dream starts and ends with pick 1. If you get either 2 or 3, you can rape other teams that want Morant or Barrett if it comes down to it.

Don't know what kind of FA you will attract with so many teams with money. I'm digging the 2020 draft so if you can't make the playoffs, the tank is always an option.

No tanking beyond this season. We play to win them all starting next season.

No I definitely understand he’s a baller and wanted him with our 6th pick in 2004 over Childress. I’m just saying he’s only super useful on a team making a championship run because he body can’t handle 82 and the playoffs, he wouldn’t want us and we shouldn’t want him at his price.

I would, he would be the perfect understudy for Reddish, Hunter, Culver, Okpala or Little.

To me, he is still an asset.

I think huge mistake to sign any noteworthy FA like Cousins. Middleton would be an interesting fit.

If we get a top 2 pick RJ or Zion would be amazing. I'd take Best defensive center with Mavs pick.

Then sign AD in one year when no other major players have FA space.

Cousins on a rebuilding team with a bunch of young players = Bad.

Also this offseason is a terrible time to go after free agents. We are going to see alot of franchise crippling contracts being signed this offseason simiiar to 2016.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
