I am a diehard Hawks fan but I know and you all do too that the Mavs will end up in the top 5. That is just how things work out for us. I would not be upset but that is just the Hawks way--- you learn to live with it. Were you all expecting the 1 and 6 picks in this draft? Hell don't be suprised if the Mavs get the #1 pick and we get the lowest possible pick we can get in the lottery.

Time will tell.
If Atlanta gets their pick at 6th who do you want to draft?

My gut is telling me that someone that isn't get alot of hype is going to end up being the best player in this draft. I trust that travis can find that dude. I am not sold on Zion Williamson at all. My gut is telling me that he is going to get exposed when he gets to the league and there is some talk that RJ might go number one. Draft the best center we can get if its not a big reach.

Zion is the best prospect since AD, if you're not sold watch some full Duke games instead of just the highlights. Watch him for full defensive sequences. Watch how he positions himself for rebounds, passes out of double teams, plays in the post... He's so, so, so much more than a dunker. I'd love to know where you heard rumblings of RJ going #1, because everything I've heard and seen points to Zion being the biggest lock for the first pick in recent memory.

Zion is a great number 1. I would love him for Barrett but it's not likely (21%)!
I'm not planning on getting Mavs pick, we can't control that anyway. I'm expecting to draft between reddish, Culver, or Hunter. They're decent enough but not stars. High level starters probably

At least remind yourself that Schlenk is good at finding draft talent, that's a plus... Minus the Luke debacle

Gonna admit that I haven't watched a lot of college ball this year, but I have read some scouting reports and watched a few highlight videos and I'm starting to really like Bruno Fernando. I could see him and a wing being the picks if the Mavs pick conveys.
Trae
Huerter
Reddish/Hunter
Collins
Bruno
Could be really good in a few years. Would certainly be exciting to watch.

Who is this Luke you speak of? Don't know him. I do know of a Luka which I am very happy with the choice of Young over him..

Maybe our luck is starting to turn? After all, we jump into the top 3 of the lottery last year, and that's pretty much the entire reason why we even have the Mavs pick now. The odds are statistically going to be in our favor of that pick conveying this year. Maybe our own pick jumps into the top 3 as well

Don't get me wrong I like Young too but LUKE looks great. I'll call him Luke until further notice

Fernando's really impressed me too. A quality athlete, and more than that, his body control is great. I feel like a lot of young guys have a certain clumsiness to them, usually from a late growth spurt they're still adjusting to. Bruno looks pretty far ahead in that regard. I wish his jump shot was a little farther along, but that's 2019 for you

I like Bruno, but I think I like Clarke and J. Porter more. The bigs in this class are underrated, wings overrated IMO.

Wow really? Hmm, my thinking was the exact opposite. I’m thinking this draft has some solid wing option in the first 15 picks as opposed to the bigs.
Where do you rank Jaxson Hayes between Bruno, Clarke and Porter?
I like Clarke the best but I’m not sure if he’s considered a “big” in my mind. Nevertheless the guy is roughed and plays super hard.

From what I've seen (admittedly little), I'm not huge on Hayes FOR US. Seems like a pretty limited player, thought maybe effective at what he does. I like Clarke's ability to switch and he's underrated offensively. Porter is probably my favorite health guaranteed because he can theoretically shoot, pass, defend and post from the C position.
As far as the wings, I personally am not super high on Barrett and Culver, and not quite as high on Hunter as some other folks, though I do like Hunter.

I still don't see what Hawk fans see in Cam Reddish. He is one awful shooter!

He's got very good ball handling ability and that might be the hardest thing for a wing to develop. Also a very good defender. Even though I've moved on to wanting Hunter, the hope with Reddish is that in the NBA, he'll have more space to be able to attack the basket. He'd be able to utilize the PnR more on some teams which is a big part of his skillset and with added strength he could finish better at the rim. It's been almost a nightmare for him at Duke. He committed first so he didn't bring this on himself, but his teammates make it harder for him to get into any game.

I'm not going to get excited about that Mavs pick until it's in our hands. It's just the way Hawks luck goes. [tinfoil-hat]That being said, Zion is going #1, the lottery is rigged, and the NBA is going to send him to NY.[/tinfoil-hat] LOL Zion & Morant will be selected with two of the top 6 picks and there are 4-5 impressive wings to choose from around them. If we MIRACULOUSLY get two of those picks...I'd go with two BPA wings IN A HEARTBEAT and sort it all out later. There isn't one of those guys that I don't like.
The mocks are very high on Hayes and he looks great as a finisher, but we have that with Collins who can actually shoot.

Nathan basically hit it on the head, but also Cam has a great form on his shot. Even if the percentages don't show he is a great shooter, he has the potential to be one. Again, as Nathan has stated, playing at Duke is probably not the most ideal place for him to develop. Zion is Zion, but Barrett is a "Hero Ball" player with poor spacing ability. If it was only Cam and Zion at Duke, without Barrett, we might see more out of Cam, but with him basically playing as a 3rd fiddle/role player essentially, he hasn't really had the chance to develop his own game more.

Forgive me but I'm not buying the Duke was a bad place for Reddish stuff. I've read so much about how the NBA floor would be more open for him and how he hasn't been in the right place for him to develop, but he's basically in the same role he'd be in if he were with Trae and Collins, in which he'd be drawing the 3rd best defender at most (maybe even 4th, considering Huerter) and getting wide open 3's and 1 on 1 drives on the basket. If he was truly a good one, you'd think he'd be succeeding in that role.
That's not to say that I completely object to taking him, but he's a guy that you likely almost have to redshirt rookie based off what I've seen and rebuild his confidence from the ground up in the G league for a full season before you let him start growing in the NBA. I don't think he has the mentality to survive what Trae survived and come out looking good if he were to struggle.
I'm likely taking De'Andre Hunter with the Hawks pick if it were me.
