#1 Scoring Team Since AS Break

#1 folk?! I saw the stat on ESPN and was initially surprised. Then not. The kids been killing. Trae and John are the easy culprits to highlight but it’s been a team effort. Shout out to Jaylen Adams AKA Super Malcolm Delaney.

That is a little misleading due to the 4 overtime game. The hawks are 3rd in offensive rating since the allstar break which is still impressive.

Agreed.

And that's the lead. I'd dare say we are a better team this season than last year under Budenholzer. Due largely to Trae and Collins, but also Lloyd's offensive system.

True dat, I forgot. Still impressive as hell for a high lotto. There is a huge margin line between us and the others now due to great culture, well-defined roles, but most importantly the way Trae be slanging that thang.

He’s gotten to the point where his basic passes look flashy. What he’s able to do without the overhead of defender pass is just miraculous.

I think that boy Kevin reading our posts lol. Getting to his spots a little quicker and more spirited. He can drop 15 before the defense realize what the hell happened.

LL Cool P has been harping on TOs being a huge key to the offensive renaissance. Since that All-Star Break, Atlanta currently ranks 9th in TO% (the good-side-up ranks, from fewest to most per 100 possessions). Pre-All-Star (first 58 games), the Hawks ranked 30th, and 29th place wasn't really all that close.

And Trae has been averaging 26 and 9 during that stretch. Offense is not going to be an issue for this core going forward. We just need to play with more effort on defense, especially Trae.

CLP is a very patient man. It was tough watching the team struggle with turnovers early and hearing him not really worry about it under the guise of having a very young team. He and the staff slowly but surely worked out the kinks behind the scenes along with Trae’s ridiculous speed of soaking up NBA game speed. It would’ve been easy for him to dumb down his offense, instead he sets bars for his squad to meet.

I’m sure an analysis of usages across the roster would show a changing trend around the time Lin left. Maybe more Vince, Jaylen, and Kevin (all very close to 2:1 assist:turnover) handling in the fourth quarter, a little less Baze, Bembry, and Taurean (all pushing 1:1 or worse). We also run as many dribble hand offs as anyone, a good way to protect it.

Very very impressive and encouraging trend. Hopefully we can get some defenders in here this offseason and really sustain some success.
