3 New York 1, 55, Smith Jr., Dallas picks Cleveland 2, 26
4 Cleveland 2, 26, J.R. Smith contract. J.R. Smith contract is like an asset.
5 Phoenix 3, 32
Ken's Top Prospects:
Tier 1: Superstar potential
1. Zion - Elite floor, Elite but NOT a HOF ceiling, fit will play a role if he becomes an superstar level player. As special as they come. Even if others may have potential, no one should pass up on him for any reason whatsoever.
Tier 2: All Star potential
2t. R.J. Barrett - High floor, very high ceiling, could be one of the best players in the league in the right situation. Like this entire in this class, fit is important for Barrett long term.
2t. Ja Morant - One of the best talents in this class but one has to seriously question his floor. A bad fit could limit his impact. Best to put him around shooters. Special PG talent.
Tier 3.5: Decent Role player potential with All Star possibilities down the road. I do see these guys as Day 1 contributors.
4t. Reddish - Semi low floor, very high ceiling. System based player.
4t. Brandon Clarke - Mid high floor, very high ceiling, I strongly believe he can be the next DeMarre Carroll with Shawn Marion level athleticism. System based player. Will need time to translate into a SF.
4t. Darius Garland - Low mid floor, high ceiling.
4t. Bol - High floor and very high ceiling? System based player. Extremely bad flaws. Extremely good strengths.
4t. Coby White - Semi-Mid floor and high ceiling, System based player
Tier 4: Decent Role player potential or raw with AS possibilities. Deep Tier 4 class. One of the best in years. Of course, some of these guys could return.
9t. Jaxson Hayes - Low floor with high ceiling, Hayes has a blend of J. Noah, Capela and Robin Lopez in him. He is so far from ready to play, anyone who takes him will likely send him to the G-League for a season. System based player
9t. DeAndre Hunter - Very high floor with mid ceiling, you are looking at a Otto Porter Jr/Ron Artest type who can help you right away. He can fit any system to a degree and he fits the modern NBA.

Associated PressHawks' anticipation building for crucial NBA draft lottery
No team has more riding on next week's NBA draft lottery than the Atlanta Hawks.
If the pingpong balls fall Atlanta's way, the Hawks could be the only team to end up with two of the top nine picks.
The last two drafts have set the foundation for the Hawks' makeover. John Collins and Trae Young are the new faces of the franchise .
More help is needed following 29 wins this season. General manager Travis Schlenk dares to dream of hitting the jackpot in the May 14 lottery and having the first and ninth picks in the June 20 draft. That best-case scenario would add significant momentum to an already promising rebuilding process.
"We like the position we're in," Schlenk said Friday following a workout with draft hopefuls at the Hawks' practice facility. "We all know right now we're sitting with the fifth odds and potentially the ninth odds, so it'd be real exciting. The best-case scenario would put us at one and nine. That would be great for the franchise."
Schlenk and Pierce already are happy with the Doncic-Young trade. But they know final judgment on the deal awaits the Hawks receiving the added first-round pick.
With a little lottery luck for Atlanta, the wait will soon end.

The AthleticJami Gertz on Hawks’ lottery, red ribbon on bra strap and not saying ‘Zion’
Depending on your viewpoint, the Hawks’ chances of landing the first pick in the NBA Draft Lottery on May 14 hinge either on the pure randomness of flying ping-pong balls or the mystical powers stemming from the red ribbon that will be tied to actress Jami Gertz’s bra strap, as well as the chocolate cake chaser she’ll be woofing down the night before in her hotel room in Chicago.
“If anybody has any teas I can drink or shamans I can meet with, send them my way — because I’m willin’,” she said. “But right now it’s chocolate cake and a red ribbon.”
"It really is the luck of the draw. It’s a ping-pong ball in a room somewhere. I was a fan before there ever was this wildest dream of owning a team. Now I feel pride, joy and responsibility to bring a championship to Atlanta. So, yes, there’s immense pressure to get it right."

I'm very greedy. I'll only consider this a success if ATL gets #1 and CHI gets #2. Zion to ATL, Ja to CHI. Perfection in my world.

Sorry man, you will never get what you want if you don't run the simulator and get the result you're looking for and then post it in a screenshot to the forum.

I've been boycotting the simulator since 2003 when I did it one time and got the Bulls taking Lebron #1. I was so convinced it was going to happen since I only did it one time. I feel like the simulator lied to me and caused me to be the cynical person I am today.

Thanks Spank2nique for posting an "insider" story that no one can see. TYPICAL.

While supplies last (an hour maybe )
Lw3 you know it’s our turn. Even if you consider it’s the Knicks turn, they got Ewing in 85 with the number 1...bulls got rose...Cavs got it several times (Lebron Kyrie Bennett)... suns go DeAndre last year.
WE GOT NEXT!

The entire trajectory of this franchise can change with the right bounce of the ping pong balls on May 14. We've done our part on the court and in the front office to set this up, now is when that little bit of luck needs to come into play.
