Hawks trade Prince to the Nets

Post#1 » by Hawkeyes » Thu Jun 6, 2019 8:33 pm

@wojespn Brooklyn is trading Allen Crabbe and No. 17 pick in 2019 NBA Draft and protected first in 2020 to Atlanta for Taurean Prince and 2021 second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

I liked Prince but I think that’s a pretty good trade.

That shouldn't be an issue. Nets are a good team, a sure thing playoff team. Looks like we'll be getting another mid first rounder in 2020 to go along with #17 this year. Great move!

Im guessing 8 and 10 will be used to try and move up.. question is for who? I don’t see us selecting 3 rookies in the first round.

Wow, nice trade by Atlanta - congrats Hawks fans. Very interesting to see what they do next.

I will miss Prince, I think he had the full package to suceed but for some reason did not work as expected, I think he lack passing and for some reason good defensive tools did nit work completely.

I think Crabbe in a sixth man role can be a good addition for the Hawks, good scorer if he receives the ball, he really had a fantastic year in Portland but injuries did not let him to suceed in Nets, he could find his rythm with Young dishing.

Eggsactly. I see why Marks is always a 'former' exec. He brings minimal insight whenever I hear/see anything from him.

I believe he had to dp more things than he should have when the team was lacking talent. Then he was unable to reconvert to his old himself when needed to.
He is an excellent worker who can defend, rebound, penetrate and do the dirty job. He can shoot from three. But he has to be far from taking offesive decissions or handle the ball regularly.

Next one to be removed from those duties and, if possible, the team, should be Bazemore.

I still would like to at least attempt some FAcy moves this summer considering next year’s stinks and everybody in 2021 is old.

Not mad at this for the Hawks, Prince looking like the odd man out on this squad. Crabbe fits nicely with the scheme of this team. ,The 17 the pick alone could bring a comparable player. Not mad at all.

Well there are too many desperate teams that are trying to win now who also have the mind set that they have to cash in on this 2019 free agency class since next year is projected to be weak. We have time, our best players are 20 years old...

We are smart to make this trade early because a lot of teams this year are going to find out that their cap space is worthless when they have to overpay players to go there.

This year's Free agency is going to be a blood bath. Its going to be a bunch of teams fighting each other to give max contracts to guys like Khris Middleton and Tobias Harris.

Too much demand with not enough supply.
