why would a team that wants to win want Evan Turner? He's not good enough to play for the worst team in the league, what playoff team could he possibly help or even crack the rotation?

No team is going to trade for Evan Turner. He has been awful this season. He will likely get bought out.

Actually, he's was so bad with POR last season, and the team finishing 3rd in the West... the problem is that now, he hasn't shown anything. If we wanted to get something from him, he had to shine a bit more.
Not sure if we would have got more in trading Bazemore now...

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread Part 3
Probably you guys won't do it but just asking. Would you do a Steven Adams/Ferguson/Denver 1st/Clippers 2022 1st for Parsons and John Collins?
OKC needs to rebuild and having another (very) good young player to develop with SGA would be really nice (we already have so many picks). Adams would be a great fit next to Trae (and he probably won't cost that much on his next contract). Ferguson is a decent role player and could be helpful on a small contract as well. Then you have two picks that you can use to improve your roster...
Don't think Atlanta would do it but feel it's fair value.

Atlanta won't - they are also rebuilding and JC is part of the core going forward.
The Trae/Collins PnR is a thing of beauty. Collins is also developing his 3pt shot.
Hawks are looking to add to the Trae/Collins duo not replace Collins (of course unless it's for a real star upgrade).

No. No one in our young core is available.
Honestly, 2022 OKC 1st and Parsons is about as good as it gets.

In case the team start to playing well with all the main guys ready now, and if Schlenk wants to add vet now but with good contract and tradable before 2021 summer, there are two C who are not a liability on both ends of the court, but in different situations, and not easy to get as their team may want to keep them :
- Poeltl with a small contract so not easy to trade for. Parker works alone, but pick would be needed to convince SAS
- Valenciounas, who has a good contract at 16M/year, but it would need MEM to stop their playoffs run and wanting to add younger player so they would ask for a first pick
He has one more year than Adams, but a lower contract so easy to trade again
Your thoughts on them, and what would you trade for each ?

TS has checked in on Poetl.
Not sure Memphis will trade Val.

Val seems like a guy who means more to Memphis than other teams so I kinda doubt Atlanta would want to offer up whatever Memphis would deem as fair value. Val also can get played off the floor still in a playoff setting by opposing teams targeting him with PnRs. He still isn't great at defending them but teams aren't actively targeting him in the regular season so it hasn't killed us thus far.

Crazy question from a Sixers fan...would Atlanta fans be interested in a reunion with Al Horford?

If you send Thybulle along with Al we'll take him.
He's making a boatload for a 33 year old for the next 3 years.
We just brought Teague back so anything is possible.

Ehh Thybulle not gonna happen. Only cost Parsons tho.
My thoughts were that Horford would actually fit next to Collins as a good PF/C combo and you guys would still have $ to sign whoever you wanted, even after adding Horford’s contract. The 2020 free agent class is pretty crappy so Horford may not look like the worst 2nd addition with all the cap space the Hawks will have available.

It's not the 2020 class that is worrisome when it comes to Al, it is every fa class after that.PhillyFan11 wrote:jayu70 wrote:PhillyFan11 wrote:Crazy question from a Sixers fan...would Atlanta fans be interested in a reunion with Al Horford?

I can't see Atlanta eating that awful contract now. Plus Al didn't exactly leave on great terms.

Just because the Hawks have capspace to sign 'whoever we want' doesn't mean we take Horford for free. He's still 33 and over paid, there is a cost for thst.

From The Athletic
Q. Any word on if the Hawks are looking to use the Nets pick at the deadline?
Chris Kirchner: They've already dangled that pick in trade talks.
Q. Have the Hawks dangled their own 2020 pick in trade talks?
Chris Kirchner: I know they feel like there's less talent than usual but they will likely be drafting inside the top 5 and have a better chance than other teams to secure a high-end talent. I do know that they certainly will listen for trade offers.

This would certainly be something for our front office to consider.

I have a question, and I would appreciate some feed back on. I know that Chandler was rumored to be in this deal, so don't know if there is still some interest or not, after his accident. But in the case there was, I have trade idea for you guys.
Boston trades the 23rd overall (currently) 1st round pick (Boston's own), along with the 30th overall pick (currently) (from Milwaukee) along with the 44th overall (currently) (from Brooklyn) to Atlanta
Atlanta trades the 15th overall pick (from Brooklyn) to Boston
Why for Atlanta:
Atlanta gets a 2 1/2 for 1, and is able to give Detroit, Milwaukee's 1st round pick in the Drummond trade, and still have a second pick in the first round with the Boston pick and an additional 2nd round pick.
Why for Boston:
Boston has 3 1st round picks plus a 2nd round pick in this draft. Boston also currently 5 rookies on their roster along with 2 more as 2 ways. This allows Boston to consolidate picks, with out having to draft and stash overseas.
Just an idea, was wondering if this was a possibility. Thanks in advance for your time.

Not a fan. I'd rather have 15 than 2 2nds and priviledge of giving Drummond stupid moneyJamaaliver wrote:This would certainly be something for our front office to consider.
