Atlanta trades #6, #50 to Charlotte for #3, #32, and Terry Rozier.

Hawks get their backup PG for the next two years and moves up in the first and second round. It eats into the 2021 cap, but it's still enough to offer a max slot to someone.

Charlotte gets off of the Rozier contract and is able to completely bottom out for a top pick in the 2021 draft while still keeping their young players.

If Edwards falls to #3, then it is a big YES for me.

That's how our bigs will be in perpetual foul trouble if we can't at least pretend to have some defensive resistance on the perimeter. I'm just not interested in a mini me backcourt.

This seems like a pretty good offer for the Hawks. Rozier for free, except for the two years at about 18.5 and moving up in both rounds. I think that we don't want to pay a back up PG that moch to ride the bench and he would be very unhappy in the role but I figure we could second trade him somewhere for better fit. Maybe bring in two role players with matching salaries. Possibly one or both on one year deals.

Draft upgrade is the gravy. I do this trade

It would also put us in a great place to do a trade down for someone that wants the #3 or take one of Edwards / Wiseman / Avdija

Return to Atlanta Hawks
