I'm sure they would've taken Collins for him before the draft. Wonder if they're interested still lol

Why because he threw up a couple jumpers that went in during garbage time. A lot of people thought he did well but if you actually watch the game, during the first quarter when it was still a game, he fumbled the ball a few times and missed a few gimmes as well.

Oh I think they’d definitely trade for Collins as Kerr is trying to showcase Wiseman to pad his stats for possible future trades. The only thing is that everyone now knows that Kerr is a slimy guy and he’s infected with the Danny Ainge asholius graccus disease.

What would be the perfect potentially obtainable piece to pair with Trae?

Elite defender 1-4 who can shoot and pass

Obviously Anthony Davis would be number one for number of reasons... But in reflecting on potential pieces, who stands out as "could be the next Anthony Davis". I'm taking Giannis off the board as well for obvious reasons.

I'm thinking Ben Simmons because if he could shoot would be completely untradable...

My list would include Deandre Ayton and Jaylen Brown. Both guys unlikely to be traded unless Suns are a disaster (Paul injury)

Who else would you'll think are the best fit trade candidates to pair with Trae?

1. Ben Simmons
2. Pascal Siakam
3. Karl Anthony Towns
4. Malcolm Brogdon
5. Lauri Markannen
6. CJ McCollum
7. Draymond Green
8. Michael Porter Jr.

I’ve always thought Marcus smart would be great to pair with Trae. Reliable three, great defender.

Lower tier guy but still a good pairing also is Josh Hart. Then again that cat pairs well with every type of baller.

I'm in the same boat. Seems that if Simmons becomes available you'd have to pursue him. I love his Defense

I don't know if KAT will be available but I suspect his price will be higher and he's not a great defender... But would be an elite offensive combo

Yeah but Collins is X factor.... We kind of need to trade him before deadline if we don't want to give him 4/130

:noway:

Hawks can't afford to trade Collins now. He is on his rookie contract and what his payroll $$$ right now would be the basis that would be used in the trade. He's worth a lot more than this. Hawks offered him a good deal which he turned down.

If he signs an offer sheet from an opponent this off season, Hawks will be forced to match or lose him for -0-. Personally, I was saddened that he didn't sign this fall before the season began. It's too late now. Hawks have no choice. Just ride it out and see what happens. Collins wants the max or near max.

:D

Bring Omari home!!!!

Hawks get: Omari Spellman(immediate dump pun intended)+ Julius Randle+2022 1st (top 3 protected)

Knicks get : John Collins+Clint Capela

Why for the Hawks: I’m not sure it’s New Year’s day :banghead:

Why for Knicks: I dunno..

Thoughts?

Ps If I went to the general trade board with this they’d kill me.

Honestly though we never talk about Ju. I know he has inflated stats with the Knicks but he’s a bulldog and he can pretty much do it all except for playing defense. Lol. I dunno, I love John but Ju is no slouch he just gets crapped on a lot. Could this save us money?

I thought back in 2019 we should have find a way to get him. He has almost the same contract than Gallo, two guaranteed years and 4M in the the third if cut, but he's only 26 years old... would not have brought help in defense though

I know this is still an unpopular opinion, but I think JC should be traded. He's proving this year so far that he's not a max guy and he struggles defensively against basically any big with any sort of offensive prowess. He also struggles offensively against any long defender. He has the spectacular plays, but he's not a go-to option. Dre is more of a go-to than JC.

We aren't going to pay him what he wants, so I'd just rather trade him now preferably for someone with more length or packaged to get a true secondary offensive playmaker.

Disagree heavily. Hawks +19.0 Net Rating when Collins is on the floor so far this year. Offense falls off a cliff when he sits and the defense is actually better (he’s been inconsistent but I don’t think hes been bad) when he’s out there. Hawks are going to take a big hit if they trade him and doubt they get close to his worth bc of his contract situation.

All of this is true. Problem is that someoneis going to offer him more than the 4@90 that Travis offered. How much is he worth to the Hawks? If he isn't worth all that isn't it better for the Hawks long-term well being to trade him for something instead of losing him for nothing or re-signing him to a bad contract
