NBA Draft prospects who could rise up the board after Scouting Combine

1. Tyrell Terry | PG | Stanford
Spoiler:
Image

There may not be a better shooter in the 2020 NBA Draft than Tyrell Terry. He is a knockdown threat in catch-and-shoot situations and has real upside as a playmaker within the half-court.

The main concern with Terry as an NBA Draft prospect was his low weight. When Terry’s season ended with Stanford back in March, he weighed in at 155 lbs and is now at 174 lbs ahead of the NBA Scouting Combine.

Let’s not forget, Terry was also rumored to measure in now at 6-foot-3, an inch taller than his previous measurement. This should give teams the confidence in his size to hold his own in the NBA if it’s confirmed.

For teams looking to add more shooting, it’s difficult to pass up on a talent like Terry after he’s shown to be able to add weight to his frame and is an inch taller.
2. Isaac Okoro | F | Auburn
Spoiler:
Image

It’s not easy finding a shutdown defender on the wing and Isaac Okoro could end up being an option for teams that have a lottery pick.

Standing at 6-foot-6, Okoro isn’t the tallest wing out there but he has a wingspan that is 6-foot-9 inches in length. Additionally, he has the strength to play multiple positions on the wing and has the weight to get it done— weighing in at 225 pounds.

The athleticism Okoro brings to the table is evident and it could jump off the page when the results from the NBA Scouting Combine come out. When coupled with his film on defense from Auburn, there will be real intrigue.

For a rebuilding team, having a wing that can switch and guard multiple positions with offensive upside is an effective option.
3. Tyrese Haliburton | G | Iowa State
Spoiler:
Image

There is plenty of intrigue surrounding Tyrese Haliburton from NBA teams ahead of the NBA Draft. He was one of the most efficient offensive players in college basketball with real 3-and-D potential. Standing at 6-foot-5, there is real combo guard long-term potential for Haliburton in the NBA. The main question is the length of his wingspan since there are multiple numbers out there. The NBA Scouting Combine will give confirmation on a figure.

Haliburton will need to add more muscle to his lanky frame in order to maximize his ability to guard bigger wings. He has an intriguing quickness to go with his frame.

If it ends up coming out that Haliburton has added some muscle to his frame and his wingspan is confirmed near 6-foot-7.5, NBA teams in the 5-8 range could feel confident in taking him.

If I were a Hawks fan I'd like to draft Okongwu personally. Obi is too similar to Collins and not the defensive presence needed moving forward for your roster.

Capella will give him time to develop his shot and overall skills then in a year or two can use his contract and one of your younger wings to flip for a more established star at whatever position of need.

Jonathan Wasserman: Everyone around NBA thinks Wolves try to trade #1. But there’s skepticism about them finding a deal. Teams with stars unlikely to deal one for such an uncertain #1 prospect Trading down sounds tough too. CHA in good spot @ 3. CHI, ATL can find better fits @ 4/6. DET has 0 assets

I only liked Edwards or Vassell for the Hawks at the top this draft but this change in Vassell’s shot is a huge cause for concern imo. Not sure what happened but like him significantly less now.....

I'm getting some Donovan Mitchell vibes from Maxey. I'm interested on how he measures out.

You guys seem like the perfect landing spot for Okongwu if he is there. With Collins' ability to spread the floor and hit the 3, and having drafted like 3 wings in the last couple of years, he seems like the guy that could clean up defensively and protect the rim when guards penetrate. Or Wiseman if he drops.

I never heard of the kid before this week, but he sounds like a cross between Gobert and Durant...

One Agents take on Anthony Edwards:
• (Edwards) “Super talented, athletic. Dynamic scorer. Alpha competitor. If he can keep his nose clean and stay around the right people, and if his agent can get him to understand that this is more than a game, great. If not, he’s in trouble. Some agents are afraid of their clients and don’t lead the way. There’s a history of players who didn’t reach their potential because they lacked guidance. If Edwards doesn’t have that guidance, he’ll be a memory before he should be a memory.”
