I dig Pat. Another guy that will drop further than he needs to for reasons I still have figured out after all these years. Schlenk type as well with Paul Reed. I’m not mad at either.

Okongwu as the 2nd best player in the whole draft?

Interesting...

That so tough, 8/15 is long enough for the draft itself but Oct. is just overkill.

Last playoff game is Oct 12th. They're not gonna have the draft during the season/playoffs.

I went ahead and checked Daniel Olinger's previous draft prediction, scouting, and grades, 2017, 2018, 2019. He is right on a few things, but wrong on a lot of things. He is wrong so much that he is not worth paying attention too.

I had him a few slots ahead of Siddiq Bey. I’m not so sure though. I like both these guys a lot. Schlenk types I think. Siddiq plays a bit like Draymond in that he makes quick power moves that are effective, at least at the collegiate level.

Depending on where we land in the draft lottery, this could be an impactful development...

Klutch is Rich Paul, right? Could they become more or less likely to steer A Edwards to Atlanta? Away from Atlanta?

Pretty sure Trae just signed with Klutch as well so that should answer your question.

I'm torn on the recent developments, specifically w.r.t. Trae following his agent to Klutch. Mainly because they've shown a tendency to steer dudes based on what's good for Lebron, specifically, and maybe not what's good for that player. This led to scorched earth, terri-bad long-term contracts, and questionable draft picks in CLE (and maybe to a lesser degree in MIA) right now.

I just hope we don't get swept up into some mess.

To me, "steering" Edwards to ATL would fall into that bad decision mix. Sure he's got tools and all that but I don't think he knows how to play basketball. Pairing (him and Trae) would be good for him individually, since it'd put him in a position of not having to be in a key role for a few years. But that wouldn't help us win. Like, at all. Not even a little bit.

It's a double-edged sword because it could also raise the Hawks' profile having R. Paul sitting sidelines. Maybe we end up getting some free agency shine because of it. At least we'd be in 'the game'?

Ah well, no need to worry about stuff that hasn't happened yet I guess.

I totally get your point and see what you see. Having said that, two things, well three, keep me smiling, one is that Trae isn’t an Alice Horford, he’s got some loyalty to him. Atlanta is his town and he will lead us. Two, Schlenk has built a tank of assets and our future looks as bright as any team in the league, we have flexibility and some up n coming stars that blend well with Trae’s game, and lastly the thing that keeps me smiling, well it’s not basketball related but you get it. BIG BASS FISHIN  OHHHH YEEEAAAA

2020 NBA Draft scouting report: Kenyon Martin, Jr.

Does Martin have what it takes to jump from high school directly to the NBA?

In advance of the 2020 NBA Draft, Peachtree Hoops is evaluating prospects with a look at what the Atlanta Hawks might be considering from now until the selection process occurs. Dozens of prospects will be profiled in this space and, in this edition, we take a closer look at Kenyon Martin Jr.
