Are the Hawks lucky they didn't get Zion?

I have no doubt that Zion will recover from his preseason injury be able to show his talent.

My biggest concern is not about his current injury or recovery, the concern will be his future injuries that will inevitably come just like what happen with Oden and Derrick Rose.

This is starting to look like a Oden or Derrick Rose situation where they get hurt, come back, get hurt and come back and by the 5th or 6th injury 2 or 3 years down the line, it becomes obvious that they won't reach their potential.

Will getting Hunter over Zion end up being a benefit for the Hawks?

No. I do have high hopes for Hunter.

But Zion is special. Having him here, even only for a while, could have been a franchise altering event.

He's the Shaq of Power Forwards. He's not even fully recovered from his knee surgery yet and he's still a monster. :o
