Field Level MediaThe Miami Heat can expect to have a slightly different obstacle in their path Tuesday night when they seek to complete an early season hat trick over the visiting Atlanta Hawks.
The Heat beat the Hawks twice in a three-day, home-and-home series in October, prevailing 112-97 at home on a night when Atlanta star Trae Young suffered a sprained right ankle, then 106-97 two days later in Atlanta when Young had to take the night off.
The Heat figure to see a fully healthy Young this time around, with the second-year scoring machine having gone for 39 and 30 points in his last two outings.
Young is averaging 34.4 points over his last eight games.
The Hawks lost the first five of those eight, but have since won two of three, including 122-107 at Charlotte on Sunday in the opener of a three-game trip.

With all the players out for the Heat this looks like a winnable game. Make it two in a row.

Miami is an 8.5 point favorite.
I look forward to seeing Tyler Herro play for Miami.

Trae didn't look good at the end of the half.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

That loss falls on Coach Pierce. Inexcusable not calling time out with 30 seconds left and the ball in order to get Trae back in the game. Sitting on 2 time outs. Up 117-114. No excuse for that. Instead they let Bumbry run the point and we don't even get a shot off.

100%. Bembry ruined the offensive possession and the result was a quick 3 on the other end by the Heat. Cam Reddish was also out of the game for that defensive possession, and Pierce had Vince Carter of all people guarding Jimmy Butler.

Re: Game Thread: Hawks in Miami -- 12/10
the bonehead layup attempt from Bembry and then the 3pt attempt in OT from Alex Len. those are the two possessions that killed me. i don’t know who Bembry thinks he is but this is mot the first time he’s tried to win it all for us with weak attempts at the rim. he needs to knock that off. Len...why is he anywhere near the perimeter in a clutch situation? who does HE think he is? i’m honestly starting to want him gone and i hate to say it because i was excited for him to be the guy he said he wanted to be for us this season but he’s just not that guy and i don’t think he ever will be. i would rather have had Jones out there, at least he knows what to do in that paint.
even with the Heat players having the games of their lives, this was our game to lose and we did just that.

All these points are right, but what is also right is that Trae got tonight the worst +/- of the team with -24, so MIA dominated the game when he was on the floor, even if ATL had some good moments with him.
The game could have been won earlier because of Trae impact (on this game), and could have been won at the end before OT with better choice from Pierce and Bembry.
They are responsible, Trae included

Coach being at fault for the collapse is what I believe too.
The game was so exciting until OT came around that we fell flat on our faces.
