"I think the biggest thing is keeping everyone in their role, to where we're not asking anyone to do more," Pierce said. "I think having everybody back, we have a natural point guard in Brandon [Goodwin] that we can use in that second unit. Maybe he can generate some shots for Kevin or he can initiate the offense so we can get Kevin [Huerter] on the second side of actions or Cam [Reddish] on the second side of actions, which is where they're naturally comfortable at this stage."

Pierce also said he expects Goodwin, who had 21 points and six assists in Orlando, to remain a part of the rotation as the backup point guard moving forward. Goodwin is a solid on-ball defender and passable 3-point shooter who could help give the offense more floor spacing and off-the-dribble potency with Young off the floor.

BG has earned the backup role with his performance last game. Allow Huerter not so much responsibility as the main ball handler as well.

Another 3-4 days in between games only means more back to back games later on in the season which irks me.

This schedule has done us no favors. Still gonna be a tough January, but hopefully everyone gets and stays healthy so we can actually see what the team looks like and plan for next season.

These refs literally called a foul on Trae for getting stepped in by Smart.

These refs need some kinda reprimand. How do you watch Smart go out of his way, stare at Trae and then STEP on him and not call a tech?

Good game otherwise but man that’s an unacceptable no-call, that and the Kev dunk.

The refs were awful the whole game...as is evident by the 14 additional free throws they got.

While it was good defensive recovery, an argument can be made that Theis was in Trae’s landing space. I just remembered Trae’s game winner vs Chicago last year was cancelled by a foul on Dedmon for being in Otto Porter’s landing space on a three the next possession. Theis was way worse and it wasn’t called.
