1. Trae Young will be an All-Star. I don’t think this prediction is the easiest one to make, but I think it’s most likely to happen. Young is averaging more than 28 points and eight assists per game to rank in the top five in both categories.
2. John Collins is given a four-year contract. Collins is eligible for a rookie extension this summer that won’t kick in until the 2021 season.
3. There will be a new center on the roster by the conclusion of the trade deadline. The Hawks have three backup centers on the roster.
4. The Hawks don’t get the No. 1 pick. Since the NBA started using the current lottery system in 1994, the Hawks have been in the draft lottery eight times and only once did they put in the same position as they entered.
5. Once again, the Hawks will have a historically bad defense.
6.Cam Reddish solidifies himself as the team’s go-to lockdown defender.
7. Evan Turner and/or Chandler Parsons won’t be on this team by April.
8. If he’s not traded, Jabari Parker will opt into his player option. Parker remains a giant liability on defense as he has been for all of his career, but he has shown that he can score.
9. DeAndre’ Bembry won’t be re-signed this offseason. Bembry is the lone remaining player on the roster who predates Schlenk’s arrival to Atlanta.

It was one game but man if Goodwin can be that guy for us consistently, what an inexpensive treat that would be. He really is a scrappy defender for a guy his size and I can see him leading our second unit on runs DJ Augustin style.
As far as centers, top 5 possible pickups I would want in a Hawks uni from most desired to least desired (but still desired): 1. KAT- for obvious reasons. Bonafide offensive monster, serviceable rim protector and perimeter defender. His weaknesses aren’t too crazy to be our downfall. The only issue is the cost could make this a lateral move. How much better could he make our team if everybody is gone? We’d still have cap room but I’m not sure how attractive we would be when it’s time to talk business with a big name.
2. Myles Turner-probably the smartest play for us. Don’t think the cost will be nearly as damaging as a KAT trade. Great paint presence both offensively and defensively, but is also a decent floor spacer. All that plus his athleticism makes for a great fit next to Collins.
3. Steven Adams- defensive wall. Good on the boards and a great character that our locker room would benefit from. Not as much of a threat offensively as the first two but can still get his when needed. Cost may not be too high either.
4. Andre Drummond-he is only this low because he would likely be a rental and I wouldn’t want to gut the team for a flight risk. We would have to not give up too much or get something/someone concrete from Detroit in addition to him. Other than that, rebound machine, defensive truck, and while he can disappear offensively he can make up for it with his improved passing ability out of the post. Only concern is I’m not sure how well an old school center fits with us after Dwight, but then again this ain’t Budball anymore. Worth a shot at a reasonable price.

The only one I could see happening is Adams. I feel GMs have a better grasp on what his value is...which I doubt is multiple young players or frps, like the fans seem to think.

Exactly, and I would add that is especially for a player expiring in 21 that I wouldn't give a lot of picks, because we are not guarantee at all that we would sign a better player with 2021 cap room. Before the season, majority owner Tony Ressler said that the next step for the team is to figure out when to intelligently spend money and surround the young, foundational pieces with more talent around them. I would not expect Trae Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter or Cam Reddish to be traded. Unless the Hawks decided to go after Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns, I can’t see any of those five players being involved in any deal.

I'm glad they don't put Bruno in the core. He has done literally nothing to suggest that he is even an NBA player, let alone a valuable piece for the future.

I agree, Baynes fits that team too well for them just to let him go for little to nothing. I'd be in favor of giving Baynes a semi payday. Unfortunately he doesn't have it in him to play 30 mins. a game. Fill out the rotation with another big in the draft and cheap front court player via free agency.
That would be my backup plan to the backup plan (Plan C). Maybe you acquire Wiseman in draft day trade if you lose the lotto and/or sign Ibaka or something.

Sometimes come great risk, comes great rewards. KAT fits that profile. Although I suspect the Wolves will do everything possible to keep him. It's inevitable that they will lose him. KAT does make the numbers for what he does. However, KAT would make for a great "Robin" for the A-1 option player. Trae albeit in his early years fits that profile. I can see both Trae and KAT make a solid tandem like how Ja and 3J are doing for the Grizzlies. That said, making this move will help build for the next following year. I will say that the Hawks need to manage more patience with some of their guys and perhaps look to trade off a few select in which they could improve around the edges of their roster. I can't say who exactly as I'm just an outsider. If I'm the Hawks here I would look into this:
Myles Turner is another player that's been on the ATL's radar for the reasons you listed above. I think with VO coming back. I can't see the Hawks making any major moves right now unless it happens in the off-season.
Steven Adams is staying wit hthe OKC Thunder as the Thunder are in what I call the strangest season for the Western Conference is in the midst of a playoff race. If he gets move, I'm thinking the off-season as Turner above.
Andre Drummond is the danger move I would not make if I'm the Hawks. Given where they stand right now, there are no guarantees that he will stay for a team that's rebuilding like the Pistons are about to enter. I can see Drummond going to a more solidified playoff team like the Mavs or Celts for instance.
