Grade the Deadline
In:
-Clint Capela
-Dewayne Dedmon (and two seconds)
-Skal Labissiere
Out:
-Evan Turner! (and BK pick)
-Jabari Parker
-Alex Len
Let me know what I’m missing but Hawks got a lot for a little in my view. Clearly defense and rebounding is the driver of these deals and I say job well done.

You should also include Teague.

A++++++++
Can't think of any scenario where we come out better than we did. Just an amazing job by TS, makes up for his horrible summer.

Everything fell so perfectly in to place, his “bad” summer felt calculated, except I don’t think you can predict Houston shopping Capela.

Re: Grade the Deadline
Magic fan (not anymore) moving over for good, had always liked Atlanta and loved the Trae pick.
I would give it a A. Got a very good C in Capela for practically nothing, Dedmon as a solid backup (hopefully he can get back to his old Atlanta days).
I am really excited to see how this group starts to shape up into a quality team. Trae, Huerter, Hunter Collins Capela is a very solid starting 5. Add in the pick for 2020 draft and its full of youth waiting to be molded into a proper playoff team for years to come.

A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

A+ for me.
This was as good as the Hunter/Reddish/Bruno draft. Capela/Dedmon/Skal is an epic upgrade for what we do over what we lost.

Re: Grade the Deadline
Man, today was jam packed with league-wide activity.
And it was really exciting to finally be a part of the overall narrative. (No more sitting on the sidelines)
My takeaways:
I'm pretty surprised D Bembry is still here.
I love getting Dedmon back in the locker room.
Interested in seeing how the remainder of the season plays out for us.
I honestly had a hard time keeping track of who was still here...

We gave up essentially nothing. How does Schlenk do this?

Re: Grade the Deadline
Hard to give it anything but an A unless you really split hairs. Capela and Dedmon solidify the center position through next season and the only real value we gave up in those deals was the Brooklyn pick. I like rolling the dice on Skal. It's a low risk moderate reward move.

Definitely an "A". Added frontcourt depth, size, and talent, plus future starter at center. Now we just need our wings to develop, and we are primed to be contenders out of the East. Top 5 pick will make things very interesting in the offseason.
Hoping Skal becomes a strong piece off the bench, so we can re-sign him. Man I loved every move Travis made. This is the most excited I've ever been about the Hawks and their future.

Not to get too dark but what Travis is doing with the Hawks is like a person buying ingredients to build a bomb but since nobody is really paying attention to him, they don’t stop him. Everybody is looking at all the big market teams and whatever else while while Travis just casually walks home with a suitcase full of uranium.

Actually, it was possible, because they saw GSW winning titles without anything at C than some rebound/box out and fouls, and more, during the series Vs GSW last season, they really dominated without Capela and were bad with him except maybe one game.
It wasn't fitting as much as before. The only thing that made me think they would keep him was his good contract
It's all good, and one thing I like is that Schlenk did not trade for players expiring in 20 or 21 only, but took Capela and it's better to have him under contract in 21 summer, because we don't know if a big FA will come, and if it doesn't fit well, you can still make a sign-&-trade for another player.
But I hope it will fit

Re: Grade the Deadline
You guys had a great draft and now a great trade deadline. One more successful draft (i.e. Anthony Edwards) and I can see the Hawks be among the elite teams in the East as early as next season.
