https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/warriors-landing-giannis-antetokounmpo-worth-losing-klay-thompsonTrade rumors are now starting to whirl around Giannis. The rumors are very mild but so were the trade rumors around Anthony Davis a few years ago.
The big rumor is that the Warriors will trade their draft pick for Giannis and may or may not add in Klay.
Of course the Hawks should throw out an offer just for due diligence.
Warriors might get the #1 pick but the Hawks could also get the #1 pick. If that happen. #1, John Collins, for Giannis and a bad contract seems like a competitive offer.

He's not going anywhere.
The blog posts posted by fanboys at NBCSN aren't "rumors". It's fanboys posting NBA 2K trade scenarios.

Thank you. We gotta keep reminding people just because a trade scenario ends up online that doesn't make it a "rumor".
In their defense though, with the drop in the quality of "journalism" nowadays, it's hard to tell the difference sometimes.

It’s no secret that every single NBA team would love to have New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis. While trade rumors continue to swirl frequently, especially involving the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, there’s nothing imminent involving Davis because he hasn’t shown any inkling of wanting to leave just yet.

Apples to oranges. Giannis has a chance to leave. If he does, it won’t be the Warriors. The party is over there.

Imagining that we could build the best trade package for Giannis without gutting our own team is...unrealistic.
I can't predict (yet) whether GA changes teams, but there is a a reason Atlanta has never been a legitimate player in trades or Free Agency. We don't have the pieces to get players here...or to build around them.

So you are going to hold us hostage in this situation because of our past? It’s a new day my friend. We have assets, we have the training facility like no other, we have the pieces, and for Giannis, I’ll gut the team a bit no worries.

What I mean is that we don't currently have the trade currency to get Giannis in trade. We can start by offering Collins...but many other teams can match that just as easily.
- Boston can offer Tatum
- Toronto can offer Pascal
- Miami can offer Bam
- Orlando can offer J Isaac/A Gordon
- Dallas can offer Porzingis
- Phoenix can offer Ayton
- Memphis can offer JJJ
- OKC can offer SGA and a bevy of draft picks
For us to beat any of those potential trade packages, we'd need to throw in the kitchen sink and likely take back bad contracts -- for a single player who's never made the NBA Finals.
I just think we might be better off building properly through the draft and luring an All Star player during Free Agency.

Possibly but non of those teams outside of Dallas have that guy to play with in Trae. I agree we would have to get rid of Collins, Hunter, picks and possibly more. As long as we could keep one other besides Trae I would do it. Keep Cam. I’d trade Collins, Hunter, Huerter and picks for Giannis.
Trae+Giannis+Cam

Trae+Giannis+Cam
Guys like Jimmy Butler, Chris Paul, Kemba Walker, Devin Booker and Ja Morant could be really appealing to Giannis.
(And he didn't seem too keen to draft Trae for his All Star Team earlier this year.)

I agree with Ja. But it’s him and Trae. The rest are a bitch below for the future. Also, I agree he he didn’t seem interested in Trae during the all star break.

Right, cuz those situations are identical. Giannis is on the best team in the league, that was built to perfection around him.

If Atlanta get the #1 pick, Hawks can offer that.
I would take Anthony Edwards over Tatum, Pascal, Bam, Gordon, Porzingis, JJJ
LOL about OKC having a shot
Ayton is the only guy i would take over Edwards.
Hawks or GSW, this all hinges on who gets the #1 pick. If the Hawks can pull off a Pelicans miracle draft then the Hawks can make an offer. If the Hawks just end up with #7, they ya, their is no offer.
